First I dont think he is doing Nothing.
But I dont think there is a lot of separation between say Rielly, Dion, Franson and Gardiner. non have been great.

Gardiner happens to be the best of that group at suppressing shots on avg.

Yes sure he is.

Playing 6th d I guess he should be.

He's by miles our worst defender. IMO

but who cares, somebody thinks he's da best

yea, having the easiest assignments, you'd expect he'd see fewer shots against.

that being said, he doesn't have the lowest QoC, Rielly and Robidas have it easier.

Do all the Bernier panickers realize the guy has posted a .922 and .915 so far over two seasons in front of a horrible defensive team. The Leafs need to lose right now and he's cooperating.

I'm not talking 5-7 years, but this guy should re-upped for 2-3 years. That'll give them enough time to see what they have in Bibeau and any new young goalies drafted this year or next, so they can make call on the best course moving forward from there.

TOI per game
Dion 23:05
Franson 21:12
Polak 20:54
Gardiner 20:04
Rielly 18:47
Robidas 17:18

ES Gardiner is 2nd to Polak, Dion is 3rd in Minutes played. Not in any way is he 6th Dman as far as QoC

3 yrs $4-4.5M I'd do, unless Edmonton offers something too good to be true, then by all means.

the only thing i take from that article is that a .911 sv% is only slightly lower than a .920 sv% apparently

There is the problem. He should never lead a defensive core in minutes played, but saying he is a 6th Dmis exaggerating.
