They have to come out of the draft with a centre on their first pick and most of their picks thereafter, best one available, period.

for sure, hope its not Marner, not sold on him

we are deep in the prospect pool on the back end, forwards not so much
- PinkSock

we are deep in guys that have top 4/ top 6 potential but who could turn into a top 2 guy?

we might already have a number 1 center in nylander. we definitely dont have a top pairing d-man in the system

The Hemingway Equestrian Centre is a beautiful 100 acre equestrian facility, boasting a large indoor arena, 27 stall barn, outdoor sand ring, indoor wash stall (with hot water) numerous turnout paddocks, and our own hay fields. There is ample room for trail riding, either around the 100 acres, or down the quiet rural roads that surround us. We are a family run facility with over 30 years’ experience owning and raising horses. All disciplines are welcome!

We are centrally located off of lyon's creek road in Niagara Falls, close to the QEW, and Fort Erie Racetrack.

We are offering self board at $200/month/Stall. This price includes a rubber matted stall, unlimited water, full use of the facilities, shared paddock or pasture, shared barn space for tack and supplies and a boarder's discount (better than market price) on our home grown quality hay. The boarder is responsible to feed, turnout out/in, muck their stall, and for any other needs their equine has.

Pretty good deal actually for it's location

Gauthier and Verhaeghe, that's it, all they have.

Not Sold on Nylander being a centre.

nobody like taking a d-man high. call it the erik johnson effect. I just look at our roster and we have Rielly as a top 4 lock, phaneuf, franson, and gardiner in the rumors. Robidas and polak are bottom pairing guys, and only finn and percy could turn into top 4 guys.
- GardinerExpress

They are too risky, that's why. And often take ions for them to fully develop. You're as likely to get a #1 dman in the 2nd round or late first as you are in the top 10. See recent example of Schenn.

Yep. If we can somehow get a mid to late 1st i'd love them to get that Konecny kid.

Coming out of the 1st with Strome and Konecny would be organization building worthy.

Get a couple of 2nds for Cody and Santo/Lupes? and we may actually be onto something.

Rielly. He's only two years older than Nylander, no?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. We likely wont get another first and its a long shot at best to get Strome. About as likely as winning the lottery. A team ahead of us can win the lottery and bump us back. Not likely, but don't aim so high.

What does it matter if he's not a prospect anymore? Rielly is like 20 years old and not even close to reaching his full potential.

see hedman or ekman larsson for a high swedish d-man pick.

either one of those guys would be our best d-man already. I'd love to have a guy like hamilton, brodin, jones, lindholm or trouba as well

our d is terrible and rielly alone is not gonna turn it around. morgan is literally the only leaf d-man that is 100percent locked to be on the roster next year

Ekblad is already outstanding. Jones is well on his way at only 19-20. Doughty was playing top minutes for Canada as a second year pro. Ryan Murray has been injured mostly but when he played last year he looked pretty good. i think it's a overblown. even a guy like Hedman, who took a few years, is a monster now.

In fairness, I would rather go for a Toews, Kopitar, Duchene, Giroux, Getzlaf, Carter than any of the guys you mentioned. Wouldn't hurt to have a Johansen, Forsberg etc as well.

Erik Johnson changed everyones perception on picking a d-man high.

Staal,Toews,Backstom,Kessel,Brassard,Okposo followed......

Ekblad is a beast. miles about the other top guys from the 2014 draft already

Pretty much. Strome is the best on there if Eichel and Mcdavid are chosen
