I mentioned those 3 as examples of coming from success and falling on their faces here...I wasnt a Burke fan either...when he arrived, most fans thought he certainly would change culture and winning and didnt...seems to be a hard thing to do for those with a track record of success..
..I for one hope the Hunters can turn it around if they are the ones .. - bazookajo1

Goon tank. The possibilies of a goon roster are endless. - clark_griswold
Until the league revokes the draft pick for intentionally tanking. |

JVR is a keeper. He needs less soft people on his line |

Who? I think Brown makes the team next year, if given a legit shot. |

put the damn C on his chest and sign him for another 3 at a more reasonable rate
let that guy show these lil kids what it means to care and be a true NHLer - Dozzer
If he is around next season, he would be choice one for the C, depending on who else is brought in, if Winnik is kept, choice number 2. |

No, one full season in A to work on not getting killed, makes it as a 20 year old with his full 3 years entry still remaining. |

I wouldn't say he's soft. He needs to go to the net more often but he's a big kid. No sense in trading him. |

Dion not rumoured to be going the other way as LA and Toronto have resumed talks, Lombardi seems to have backed down on his offer and may be willing to offer a high pick or Toffoli"

I wouldnt be upset if he got moved, hate big soft (frank)ers, he donst have to fight but atleast do a Sundin face wash |

I would keep Komarov, JVR, one of the goalies, Rielly, Polak, Kessel (I keep him until a blow away offer comes, but I do think he needs to go eventually. someone will overpay severely..be patient) and Kadri. I don't think there is much point in trading guys like a Winnik is worth it as you likely wont get anything significant in return. - systemtool
Agreed, except I would be trading Winnik and Santo. if you get a 2nd for Santo and a 3rd for Winnik great. If you want them back just sign them in the summer. |

Difference is Hunter's built those winning cultures - Burke, Carlyle, Wilson inherited them. - Deeps27
Another thing I know about Hunter, the Hunters, is that they know the CHL inside and out. Would be a huge bonus for our drafting. The N/A variety, which I

100 percent a keeper. If the leafs are wasting their time trying to trade players that are keepers then they will go no where. |

I love Brown. But I think it would be beneficial for him to be a mid season call up next year. But we will see |

Thanks - broke down and looked it up. Gotta think at least Santo is held in higher regard; Winnik more responsible with less offensive upside...don't think 2nd rounders as a return are out of the question. - Deeps27
I think Franson will be the big piece to dangle b/c their aren't a lot of guys on the market like him.
Santo is probably in a big pool of available forwards b/c their are a lot of teams already out of the playoff race and likely to be sellers.
Stafford, Stewart, Erat, Vermette, Roy, Tlusty, Ryder, Havlat, Jagr, Brodziak, Briere ....
Not sure all will get moved but they're all pending UFA's on poop teams. |
