I'd be happy tradin up to get Strome.

I do think Edmonton might look at trading down from 2, but I don't think we have the assets to get it. They'll want a Dman better than Phaneuf

Carolina or Arizona at 2 I would say take Eichel for sure. Edmonton might take Strome... Not basing this on anything tangible, just a feeling

- Big_Lightnin

so they just take Hanifin....

No i think this team is a few pieces away. I'd keep everyone, maybe replace robidas and riemer and we're good. Just a few bad bounces.

Is that better?

- clark_griswold

sigh.. i really hoped robidas could be a solid 2nd pairing guy

he's still useful to have around to mentor the young guys back there tho

yeah man, he's fine for now but as he ages he will slow down and just be the guy who pots 20 a year by getting PP time.. just wait and see
- Dozzer

The over / under on kessel's goals vs BIG macs he consumes during the NHL season will start to even out soon...by age 30, the big macs will have taken over considerably.

Just to clear things up a bit, quite a few of us (Dozzer and I for sure) have said for three years to purge this core, you won't win with them, for me it wasn't about tanking, it was getting rid of these fragile type players to move forward.

Why waste 2 on Hanifin though? Trade down to 4, assuming team with 3 wants Strome...

I don't know if I want the Leafs to trade up at all. Ever again. Need to keep their picks and prospects.

trading up is iffy when you are paying to improve a few % points
