off loading Bernier should be part of the plan too...he can get more in return than Reimer, and Reimer is a good goalie for a re build. Unfortunately I think both goalies are decent , but they have nothing in front of them to help. Marty, Fuhr, Roy etc..were all great goalies, but needed a solid Defense or lights our offense to help and they did..without that even they looked ordinary some nights...These 2 goalies have no chance of improving with this team in front of them, and its a shame really...

I'd be open to trading Bernier at this point if we're not gonna be ready to compete for half a decade anyways. Try to get a good goalie in the 2nd round this year.

Defence played decent, penalty kill is better as well.

The best thing that happened other than a trade for #3 is that Rielly is showing what he can do, more ice time for him and watching him rush that puck is the best thing that could have happened, the best two games he has played all year is with #3 not in the lineup, should tell you something right there.

UG was right, 5 years ago, about tearing this team down, but Burke had to go with the bandaid formula. 5 years of wasted hockey watching and we're no better off then the JFJ days. This stuff has gone on long enough and it's time to rip the heart out of this core. Move Dion and Phil, plus start stripping away the veteran presence. Keep every player under 25 and say goodbye to the rest. However MLS& Greed wants to keep the season ticket holders happy. I wonder how the sponsors feel about this, considering that we're years away from a playoff spot.

Doesn't explain the Buffalo, Carolina twice, Ottawa etc.. games, they were worse against those teams with him in the lineup. His minutes were effectively replaced the last two games. If they lose 10 -2 against Nashville then they are just one goal worse against then with Phanuef in the lineup, big deal.
