funny i don't get the same reception lol. leaf fans still don't like bleak. I hate it. i don't come on during games and rip them. I just like to discuss the moves they need to make. Just look at how bad top to bottom the franchise is. Cap, roster, prospects....and considering how bad we've been?? jerseys on the ice are well deserved IMO and last year i never would have said such a thing...need to send the message strongly. re-frickin-build for once

More talk along those lines on these boards, and less gif trolling would be a considerable improvement over what I've seen this year.

I wonder if the owners have the balls. I think it's starting to show. The fans are slowly turning and it will show. The corporations will begin to back out because their clients will already know the Leafs are a joke.

that's why I'm excited. ppl think I'm angry but I'm thrilled. I barely watched this year for the first time ever..when carlyle got canned i really got back into it for the change. This year seemed like a write off from day 1. saw no intrigue in this team. all this fan rage was never apparent. Think about it..ppl were throwing jerseys early and the team was doing well. PPl know this team's time is up. And i figure if i love the leafs like i do and i could walk away, any one can. I fully believe we finally see a proper, LONG and painful teardown/rebuild this time.

I don't know about long. They have a couple quality young prospects in Rielly and Nylander. A solid center pick up this draft would greatly improve the rebuild.

i'm 100% for a full rebuild. Everyone. But nothing will happen as long as no nuts is there. Not a single deal.

trade them all, so we lose every game.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 12m12 minutes ago
To finish behind Buffalo's current pace, the Leafs can only get four points in their final 32 games. Which seems unlikely.

it's a start. But thats' 3 players. It takes a lot considering the rest of our prospects are mediocre. Hate to say it but look at edmonton. laugh all you want but we'll be in tougher. when rebuilding you look to top notch prospects/young players. If the rebuild takes long, and i think it does, we'll be in hurt mode for a while. Nylander is a winger, i know they are trying him at centre though. We need a lot of building blocks.

ya i can't see anything better than 5th overall. if we finish with the 6th pick i'll never hear the end of it because i missed by a whole spot in the standings.

honestly if management had a clue, they would be trying their best to get Mcdavid and try to lose every game, trade everyone away and try to max the value on some players

One thing Edmonton never had was a potential top flight goalie. Bernier or Reims are better than Dubnyk.

If we get the 5th pick, and McDavid, Eichel, Hanifin, and Strome go 1-4, who do we pick:

Marner
Crouse
Zacha
Werenski

At the draft: Phaneuf and Reimer for Nurse and Edmonton's 2nd rounder in 2015.

that's fine. that helped them. You mentioned rielly and nylander (i like his potential but wildcard). we're in cap hell. Not many good tradeable assets.

Oil have:

RNH, Drasiatal, Hall, Eberle, YAk, probably eichel or McDavid.

Nurse.

no cap hell. All their guys are under 23.

Who's ahead? Bernier to Oil would be a great trade.

Point is the franchise guys are only every few years. Last one was tavares (probably mackinnon). Edmonton was just bad during the wrong years, but if they get a mcdavid/eichel, and make some deals for positions..wow they look good.

Pit was lucky to be bad in years where Sid/malkin were there. The edmonton years its not like there were better players by a mile that they didn't pick. Toronto will have to be bad for years, pick up a few generational players and manage well for once to get out of this IMO. Like 5 painful years min.

Phaneuf for O'Rielly

Kessel and Bozak for Dal Colle, Reinhart, Strome

Franson for a 1st rounder

Gardiner+3rd rounder for 1st Rounder (dont know if that works just a guess)

Yeah I figure 3 - 5 to look coherent.

I don't consider Toews or Kane generational talent. Neither Getzlaf or Perry. I think the Leafs just need a game plan of draft and develop and stick to the fricking plan! No short cuts. No playing guys the year after they are drafted just because they look good in 6 games.

I just have a pet peeve about purposely tanking and believing a top pick is a guarantee to a better future. McDavid would be awesome but it's unlikely to happen. Might as well just draft a lot of guys instead and hope for the best.

i could only wish we could get a deal like that. that would be huge to turn the rebuild around quickly but i think its unlikely
