I think trading Phaneuf to Florida would work great for both teams. Except Florida is in our division and becomes a bigger threat. But they have oodles of prospects especially centres that we could use and cap space. Something like Phaneuf for Barkov, 2nd, and lesser prospect, or barkov and kulikov.
Phaneuf - Ekblad sounds solid for Florida
And the tml fans get what they want to an extent
Btw was I the only one cheering for the leafs to lose last night? I just want them to keep losing until management is pushed to do a big trade |

If you could get Barkov alone for Phaneuf you would have done so already! |

Long-time lurker, not-quite-first-time poster here.
The Ducks took Beauchemin off the Leafs hands and he went back to being good. He fit better in their system and didn't have the weight of the fanbase breathing down his neck on the powerplay anymore. We got (what we thought) was a steal in Jake Gardiner, Joffrey Lupul and a 4th for him. (Love the 4th. I want to see more 4ths thrown into all your trade proposals guys just to troll the other fanbases who will be offended at your valuation of their players vs the leaf player anyhow)
I pray the Ducks think they can do the same with Dion and offer us something, anything, for him. He's not a bad player, but he's miscast in Toronto and I have a difficult time visualizing him one day being vindicated and leading the Leafs to something special.
I could however see him being convinced that he should play in Anaheim. It's basically L.A. but closer to the golf course (I just made that part up). He can drive his Bentley and not worry about getting salt stains on it and go live the Hollywood life he seems to want.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. You guys are hilarious and although there are days I wish I hadn't, I speed-read my way through the board most every day just to see what's going on. Love it. Don't have to tell you to keep it up, it just happens. |

I was cheering for them to lose as well. When the Devels scored late to tie it up I yelled loud enough that the wife from the other room said "the leafs must have scored" which I laughed and said no Jersey scored to tie it up.
I want them to lose for the same reason you just mentioned, to force them to make the right moves and not staying put thinking we are turning it around.

I'm know as a negative ned on here and no doubt rip the team often...i want them to lose for a pick..i do however, not take joy in them losing and won't come on during games to cheer on the other team.
i'll wait until after the game to continue driving forward for TANK (GOON) NATION |
