Yeah.. Even over Sid, Tavares, Stammer... - Arctic_AARDVARK
Given his age and the whole entry level/RFA control over him - yeah. |

Yep. If I was starting a team from scratch. Assuming it would take me at least 5 years to pick the other pieces up |

There are only 2 sections Winnik is ahead (as expected corsi against....) - burn
Burn, I love you man, but its not about how many columns you win.
As Tony is pointing out the "usage adjusted corsi %" measures/illustrates the impact the player has on possession. IE. - the balance between offense and defense.
When measured as a whole Winnik > Kessel at 5v5. And it's b/c (as we all know) when Kessel's on the ice the Leafs spend a lot of time in their own end giving up corsi's. |

Also tells us that
Bozak - 3rd/4th liner
Kadri - 2nd liner
Holland 3rd/4th liner
Smith - so bad he gets ignored. - The Law
Sounds about right.....
IMO holland is better than that data shows becuase he young and just getting his chance. He's playing 3rd line this year and being used more regularly than the last. |

Yeah, that's how I see it too.
It's like Corsby being drafted all over agian, but this time we have more insight on his value because of what Crosby has done. You obviously need to surround him with veteran leadership.. But I think he's too good not to pick first.. |

Holland started the 1st shift off last night with a good hit, that's how the he needs to play...but usually Bozak/Holland/Smith rarely throw the body or not enough IMO. |

That there might be the issue with Corsi - walshyleafsfan
It is an issue for sure. Just like analytics telling us that Gardiner is the Leafs best defensive defenceman is an issue.
Corsi/Fenwick - very important stuff but not perfect. Gotta use more measurables to get the full picture. |

Has Kadri's alleged dive on the Jagr penalty been discussed yet? Can't find a replay, but it was a call for holding about 3mins into the 3rd. Jagr got his stick blade on Kadri's knee and then Kadri went down like he had been shot. Maybe it was only a minor embellishment (who knows if it actually knocked him off balance), but weaker calls have been made this year. Not having seen a replay since last night, I can't be sure.
Thoughts (other than for me to go frank myself)? - KarlKarlsson

LA is taking around 8M in total cap hit there, and giving away less than 2M...i'll say this wouldnt work - Colin Dambrauskas
Zykov is a beaut, I'm sure LA could add cap via expiring contracts? Muzzin can fit into the top four, give Rielly and Polak/Franson top pairing mins and pray we suck enough to get into the McEichHaniClouse sweepstakes |

Once they get scientific possession data (chip in puck/sticks) this proxy poop will be useless. |

Winnik hangs on to the puck and doesn't just dump it... - Garnie
Winnik has been one of the best in the league for years at suppressing the other teams possession. He's more valuable than most realize. I'd still dump his ass for a 2nd rounder.

not at all. shot attempts will always be a better measurable than active possession. for the most part they should go hand in hand: high Corsi = high possession. but what about a team with solid active possession numbers but consistently out-Corsi'd. maybe they have the puck a lot but they're not doing much with it. |
