I was big on giving Yakupov a shot but like you said it'd have to be for the right price and there's no way MacT trades him for "dirt cheap". The potential is there for him to go to another team and absolutely tear it up and he's not dumb enough to put himself in that position.

I also don't see the NEED for him right now. Why fix something that ain't broke? Okposo is out but we have the depth to overcome that barring any more injuries. We were faking injuries for facks sake to get forwards playing time

again it's the santo/winnik dilemma. We love these 3rd/4th liner guys who actually play the right way. In reality, Polak is a 5th D on a good team. Never been more than that on STL and he's on our 2nd pairing. i'm not saying he's crap; but i do move him for anything more than a 3rd. That's just the way i see it. He has 1 more year on his deal.

you are absolutely right about him being our only defensive D though.
