IMO why move Stewart for a pick? We don't need anymore picks I would maybe try to keep him and move other guys for maybe a young player or pick.
- SABRES 89

But does he want to stay?
If he's not extended by the deadline then it would be dumb to not move him. Even if its just for a 2nd. That pick could help us move up in the 1st for a guy Murray really likes.

If he played every game like he's playing tonight, i'm right there with you. The last thing this team needs is a veteran "leader" who shows up every 10-20 games for 4 million dollars/year.
I'd re-sign him or Stafford or both for 2M./short term.....year or two.
Connolly says they will do better on the open market.

Fragile Tim?

Dump Stafford - and if Stewie showed up 60 games a year - I'd sign him up - and I guess it depends on the return and if he's interested in signing back with the team...

Stafford needs to go, he's had plenty of chances enough with him already. It's time to move on from him .

Coming into this year we had Makarov who was a rookie in Ahl last year and looked great towards the end of the season...
And Ullmark who was goalie of the year in Sweden as a 20yr old...
Both have taken a step back this year though
So as of now, I'd say its a question mark as to whether or not we have our future franchise goalie in the system or not

- jdfitz77

I have a feeling GMTM wants Hackett to succeed due to his size. Unless he craps his diaper tonight, he will have held his own....which is pretty much what The other two have done. If he can trade one of them and play Hackett next year, im sure he will be fine with that. Is Hackett a franchise goalie? I doubt it. Can he hold it down over the next couple of years? Probably.

For me it's like I'd like to have Bobby Ryan but I'd REALLY love to have Sidney Crosby.
- Pierceme69

Idk...
Eichel has more grit to his game.
When the playoffs come around, he might be the guy we'd rather have?

I don't except the info. This rumour is a looser. I don't know what we're suppose too do with it.

I bet Gallysano is rolling over in his grave.

They should move both goalies and re sign Hackett, we haven't see enough of him as of yet. We can find a goalie

Idk... Its been a while since Hackett has played well. I know he's been hurt all year, but his stats were down last year to the point where Lieuwen took over as the Rochester starter...
Then everyone got hurt
He has looked "Ok" tonight I guess. We'll see how he finishes the year out, whether that's here or back in the AHL
I don't have much confidence in him as anything other than an Ok NHL backup at this point though

The Vancouver broadcast just interviewed Gary Bettman and of course the guy had to ask about tanking and the Sabres. Not so much the players wanting to lose but organizations fielding cruddy teams for a shot at generational talent. Bettman said he isn't concerned about that, team's are in different stages of their development and he knows the owners and none want to lose. The guy went to commercial saying we interviewed G. Bettman with many questions including the Sabres quest for Conner McDavid. What a load of BS. It's called re-building!!

I kind of dont have any serious confidence in any of our goalies.
I'm literally saying that Hackett takes up more space. So I think TM May prefer him.

Kris Baker @SabresProspects
Linus Ullmark stops 32/33 shots but MODO falls again 1-0 to Orebro HK. Victor Olofsson finished -1.

Rebuilding like all other teams do, the right way...through the draft and trading your aging UFA who have no intention of resigning with you for assets like draft picks and prospects instead of losing them for nothing like all other teams do. They get no flack though because Conner McDavid's don't come in the draft every year.

Should the Sabres trade for old band-aids and stay in the gutter for ever?
