Richards and a pick for Coho and Meszaros (sabres retain 50% of Meszaros salary)
- homiedclown

That INCREASES LA's cap amount this season though...(6.25-ish vs Richards' 5.75)

Not sure that would work. I would do it but they are clearing celery to sign the young guys coming up.

Edit: Yeah..what stash said.

That trade means the Kings end up with a higher overall hit to their cap. They'd never do that. Even if it is only for the rest of this year. Yes, they would be out from under Richards hit, but Coho's isn't a huge savings.

cap is pro-rated

if the sabres eat half of Meszaros contract, it's a wash

Holy (frank) players like Zadorov piss me off. Acts like such an entitled little poop. I hope his career in the NHL is very short-lived.

Maybe they add Stoll? He's having as bad a year as Richards (though it's overall not as bad since he's not been as offensive a player as Richards in his career).

He also questioned managements choice of development for him and proceeded to strong-arm his way into the NHL prematurely.

4.25 in the ahl is better then 5.75 mil

saves the kings 6 mil over the next 4 years, almost 12 mil total

Meh. The kid has his lowest value he'll ever have. No use in trading him for scraps. Might as well give him another year to improve, then he can at least be sold as a 50 point one dimensional center on a bad team with potential to hit 60. That sounds like a firstopefully Hodg and a mid prospect to me.
- TheSabresTaco

Agree. Hopefully Hodgson can have a bouncback season next her. If he can get back to a 20+ goal pace, then he can become a pretty valuable trade chip. Esp since he'll have years left on he contract...

I get that it's pro-rated, but how does that matter? It's still a combined 6.3ish million going their way with 5.75 going out. All contracts pro-rated the same so I don't see how any mention of that matters?

Edit: 2.6M total caphit going TO Los Angeles, 2.38 leaving. Wow...that math doesn't make sense in my head, but there ya go, it's not adding all that much overall. Problem is, it's not saving all that much over the rest of his term and still hurts them next season only gaining about 1.5M space

Might want to look a little deeper into that. KHL would not release him to play in the juniors. And too young for AHL.

He needs to be on a line with Ennis and a rugged winger that is not afraid to get dirty IMO

You're prob right, maybe I'm just confused.

How does he play in Juniors one year and then is restricted from it the next though? Did he sign with the KHL between seasons? And if so, was it done strategically to give him leverage over the Sabres?
