people are downgrading because of the WJ it should mean poop ..

he is destroying NCAA Records right now there has been no one like him in college hockey history

I'm not denying the talent of either one. I am just saying it's too early to say who will be better.

They are both one hit away from not playing again. The harsh reality of the game.

i was so mad darcy gave this guy that contract..however he has been so unproductive that murray wont be ble to get anything for him. at this point just keep him and hope skating coach can help him, he helps you reach the salary floor and maybe if he gets his game going next year trade him in 2016.he is a mystery, supposedly works hard and obviously was highly thought of few years back..

Could be just the fact of too many around him not motivated enough to put the effort in. Who really knows. All we have to go on is what we see. and his stat line. I'm sure he isn't happy Ennis has taken his spot. Girgs has pushed him.. also look at the wingers he has had. nothing too impressive. Maybe he needs some talent to get him going . Ya know someone that he can skate with .

Granted it was the preseason, 19-25-80 worked pretty well.

I think the team is confused about where to put him, and I can't say I blame them. I don't think anyone is living up to expectations night in and night out. You never know what you're going to get out of each player every night. Maybe minus Girgensons, who seems to have the drive every game.

im not dissing eichel. id love to have him. but it flat out isn't 1a and 1b.
its mcdavid without a doubt. to literally every scout. 10 out of 10 just went with connor.
it was closer at the start of the year, but its not really at this point.

what records is eichel breaking? hes leading the ncaa in points I knew that but I recently read an article from a BU writer that said, hes often not even the best player on his line. and hes not ready to dominate the show next year.

mcdavid was over a ppg as an effing 15 year old. hes close to 3ppg now. hes a dominant player and certainly ahead of eichel

Yeah I remember that. Seemed like a promising line . Then when Gringo was sent down, I was shocked and i'm sure Coho was too. and don't think he ever adjusted to different line mates. He should have but still hasn't.

He is playing U20 players. Eichel is playing older competition.

I'm not saying it's an excuse, but I would think Eichel could put up better numbers in Junior than he is in the NCAA

I wouldn't be shocked to see Eichel have the better first couple of years for that same reason. It's the same reason Ovechkin seemed like the better player than Crosby during their first couple of years or so.

What will be more interesting is where each player is lined up. Does Edmonton put McDavid/Eichel 1C? Would Buffalo do the same thing? I think you have to give them time to adjust to the big game. Buffalo is obviously not afraid to send guys down either. But I don't think you can justify sending the "generational" talent down, right?

I'm not 100% sure if any of this makes sense... My brain is melting.

I find it incredibly odd that he has more goals than assists as an offensive D-man.

Love the player, they are never moving him though

- sbroads24

I found that a little odd as well, could attribute to the group they have up front. I don't think they'd move him either but if it became a reality say on draft day i hope they make a move there (i'm sure 29 other teams will as well).

I feel like some of these guys will be packaged for those "cap-casualty" players.

Just my thought.

Me thinks Armia and Gringo are still another 2 seasons away before they might be considered for an all star game. I really am hoping that comes true.

If he gets us a proven NHL goal scorer, I won't be too mad in part of a deal. I like guarantees rather than projections.

I think we will only see Girgs for years to come. Latvia will make sure of it, unless we get McEichel.

Girgs wil make his spot on the roster. Gringo and Armia will take another year even on the team to get their allstar groove going .

I have a "what if" type question for all of you.

What would you be willing to give up, right now, to, let's say Edmonton, for their first pick in this year's draft?

Maybe I'd ask the same thing about the Coyotes.

That might give us a great opportunity to get The Full McEichel.

Curious.

Anyone/any combination of anyone not named Zemgus.

And, even then, I may still do it.
