I think this is just to try and keep the suspense or story going.

I think the gap is far bigger than some suggest. mcdavid is literally in a Crosby stratosphere.
over a ppg as a 15 year old?close to 3 ppg this season
then u actually watch him play a few times. dominant and powerful.

I couldn't agree more. For me it's McDavid or bust.

The Kings are going to come crashing down very quickly. But to all of the fans it was probably worth it.

If I was told that we would be guaranteed to win 2 Cups in 3 years and then end up god awful within 3 years of the 2nd Cup win, I'd take it.

I'm not even greedy. I just want one.

I know you're referring to the success the Kings have had recently, but I just want one. The dream scenario that the Kings or even the Blackhawks have would be great though.

I would love it if the Sabres were perennial contenders.

I have myself convinced that is the actual plan the brass has in store at the FNC.

correct, its just that the plan is not one everyone is on board with. Most people want it to be the how it was the previous 12 years

Same here.

Murray has said that the goal is the future. That's not just one year, that's for years to come.

We won't be winning next year. I'm just looking foward to leaving the basement,
Getting the occasional win. I never thought I would see the Sabres lose 17 of 18.

I feel ashamed that I thought this years team would be a small bit better than last years. I was really, really wrong.

I'm pretty sure that would be an upgrade right now. It's that bad.

Elliotte Friedman was on Edmonton’s 630 CHED on Friday afternoon.

On what has happened to some of the go-to guys on the Buffalo Sabres:

“Hodgson has been the biggest one. And I wonder if he’s a buyout candidate at the end of the year, honestly. If he’s a guy who’s going to end up being in that position where the Sabres try and buy him out. Because he’s been a fourth-liner this year. They’ve even moved him off center. Clearly he’s in Ted Nolan’s dog house. Maybe – I don’t know – maybe he just needs a fresh start somewhere.

“I was a huge Cody Hodgson fan when he got drafted because I saw him a bit here playing in the Ontario Hockey League. And I don’t know whether it was his back injury, or whatever happened to him in Vancouver – him and Alain Vigneault were not on the same page – but he has seriously not been the same player.

“And I wonder if at this point in time he does get a buyout at the end of the year.”

You're not alone. I thought the same exact thing.

The next hard part after this is continuing growing pains. We're seeing it with Girgs, Risto, Zads. Sam and Mceichel haven't even begun yet.

I was hoping.. Now it seems he has no game plan worth a damn. Looks like he just lets the players do what they do best regardless if there is a better way to do it. Seems to be no guidance.

This year was obvious tank. Next year you rid yourself of Stewart, Staff, Kaleta, Mitchell, Mezaros and Benoit.

You Bring in Reinhart, McEichel, Grigorenko, McCabe and Pysyk.

Trade for 2 other vets with the late first round picks you have. and get a real coach

Then whatever happens, happens.

I have a "what if" type question for all of you.

What would you be willing to give up, right now, to, let's say Edmonton, for their first pick in this year's draft?

Maybe I'd ask the same thing about the Coyotes.

That might give us a great opportunity to get The Full McEichel.

Curious.
