So we could do that correct ? with what we have coming off the books. I'm not saying it would be a smart move.

My point was if it comes down to Saad, Seabrook, or Sharp and you only have the cash to keep 2, it's Saad and Seabrook 100% of the time if I'm Chicago.
- dadeadhead

agreed then have Teravainen they don't need sharp ..

They will just replace him like they did with Ladd, byfuglien etc ..

Sharp is going to be lucky to hit 50 points THIS year, and he plays with Kane/Hossa/Toews on a line with him for all but about 7 of his 26 points this season. There are no players on the Sabres that can be close to any of those 3 linemates to help with point production.
- stashu

If he plays the remander of the season, he'll play 68 games and have 52 points at his current pace. He has 26 points in 34 games or .7647 ppg. He's still producing at a respectable clip.

Seabrook needs a new deal.
- dadeadhead

so they deal sharp and only take back a mil of his 5+. some team seeing sharps value is gonna go for that....maybe a team like buffalo....

the hawks give seabrook a mil + raise from sharps savings.

could even still resign saad to 3-4 for a couple years with the rest. but if they move him too, theyre completely fine

Sure, but at least he is still in the NHL.

But seriously.... we all know we will probably need another vet or two to bridge the gap. Sharp might be a little expensive given that he is still fairly productive. I really do think that we will just go out and get this year's Gionta just to get us through another year or two. I still think that we are falsely getting our hopes up about the availability of good young players because of cap issues.

Ideally I would target Hjalmarsson from Chi for the defense.

Myers/HJalmasrron
Risto/Gorges
Pysyk/???

- ImThatGuy

Probably cost McCabe and a third

I am not against it

As I said if it comes down to keeping 2 of the three, Sharp is the odd man out.

They were fine until the last 2 mins of the game when Lydman would

A)take a stupid penalty

B) make a stupid pass

C) both

Sharp's money allows them to re-up Saad, Krueger, and Seabrook, Bickell's does not IMO.

Bickell is way overpaid too.

Everyone is going to hate me, but I think we should target good ole Andrej Sekera if he makes it to FA. 5 or 6 x 5.5. Pair him with Myers on the top pairing.

Sekera-Myers
Gorges-Ristolainen
Zadorov-Pysyk
Ruhwedel/Another vet D
