but blew 2 of Grigorenko's ELC years rushing him to the NHL
- TheNugeIsHuge

Ya, that was some bad mismanagement
He's on the right track now though. Doing well for our ahl team

I'd love it if he got hot in the playoffs and Vancouver won the Cup
What was the deal with him supposedly refusing to play in Canada?
I had thought the Canucks would be a good fit for him, but got blasted by certain ppl saying all Canadian teams were on this list of teams he won't go to

- jdfitz77

That was the rumor he didn't want to play in Canada, wanted to be closer to the West Coast ( California) for his wife. I guess money talks.

what are the numerous oilers that were rushed?

RNH had 52 in 62 in his rookie season. Yak lead rookies in scoring.

Draisaitl, Lander, maybe Paajarvi...?

- TheNugeIsHuge

I don't think they were "rushed" outside of Drasaitl. I just think the roles they were expected to play were rushed.

They were never insulated properly

Risto scored but IMO I think they should swap him and Pysyk in the AHL
- sbroads24

Both should be here. Zadorov's BS ruined that.

and Weber is so bad that I think I'm beginning to like him. With two minutes left and an empty net, he throws it to the opposition right down the middle causing him to take a penalty. It's common sense to dump it and have the forwards chase it in that situation, especially with this talentless team.

Yup, yup and yup. Just wonder if rhinehart needs a year in rochester or not.
- seedy

Reinharts' only problem is putting on some muscle, he was getting pushed around a lot when he was up here.

Idk...
I think ppl take "rumor" as "fact" way too much

He's playing well, I hope he's in goal tomorrow. I've always liked and defended Miller.

They keep playing Risto less and less. I think he's losing confidence, maybe the goal helps.

It's amazing how sheltered Weber is yet somehow always makes the most mistakes. If I hear how he's a vocal leader again I might begin to think that's part of the reason we are so bad.....his teammates are listening

Me too. He's a work horse. Not many as good that can play as many games at a high level as he can

They wanted to compete for the playoffs this year
Just like we did with Grigorenko, they were hoping he could help out right away
I don't blame them for giving it a shot
When they realized it wasn't working, they sent him back

Prob wouldn't hurt
Even with him in the lineup next year I still think we'll struggle to score on a nightly basis
And we still don't have a goalie

If u consider McDavid/Eichel might be here as well, plus Grigorenko & Armia are on the verge of being ready for the NHL, plus Pysyk and maybe McCabe and Ruhwedel...

That's a crazy amount of youth that's going to be in the lineup
I'd expect quite a bit of inconsistencies next year

Totally agree. Once he fills out he won't be getting shoved off the puck so easily and all his other skills can shine.

If he keeps talking, they have a shot at a generational player...just put earmuffs on the young guys.

I think we are more balanced than them
We have youth on defense and offense that's ready to grow together
Their problem is their talented youth at defense was so far behind their forwards
We do also need a goalie like them

I'll agree to that. Reigns were expected to be handed off by the time Hall was 19, RNH was 18. Dealt some useful vets, though BUF will likely be/is in the same situation.

Risto thrown to the wolves. No Sekera, Regehr, Tallinder, whoever to insulate. Upfront idk who McD/Reinhart's wings will be, Foligno? Gionta? Flynn?

I don't wanna start crap again...
But Myers had a really rough game tonight
Our defense in general has been pretty crappy duringvthis losing streak
There isn't anyone I'd say is playing well

Risto will be fine next season here.

I do worry about the forwards. It's possible Armia, Grigo, Reinhart and McEichel are all here to start

Lets be real though, that 3rd goal was all Hodgson. He turned it over in the neutral zone as Myers hopped on the ice.

This team is a mess, as Murray said today, the players will look better when the team around them is better.

Brutal turnover for sure, but I don't know how 2/3 guys got behind Myers still
Don't wanna nitpick, just saying it wasn't a good game for him
I hate that whenever I say any thing that's not positive, ppl take it ad me thinking he sucks & I want him traded
That's not true
He has been better this year. But his consistency still needs work IMO
