There actually used to be a lot more just random threads, with some hilarious stuff. Less of that these days. - Pete V
Yea some of the old posters who don't come around anymore used to be ridiculous haha |

Totally. But when you get to the end of that 6 hour fright fest and find out it's a spider that was a huge let down. A lot of Stephen King's works were that way. All build up, great story, and no finale leaving you with a wtf feeling.
Makes me wonder what his sex life was like: 6 hrs of foreplay with nobody climaxing? - Maskdman3
Just like his books. The Stand is a very good example. Over 2500 pages of excellence and the last 100 pages ruined everything! Biggest let down I've ever experienced reading a book. |

I wish there was an archive of these. Would love to read back on some from 3-5 years ago - TPC
I remember one thread before I signed up, it was Waynez, Cheater, and a couple other people, and I was in tears reading it. Can't even remember what it was. |

Pet Cemetery was incredibly creepy for me, the movie actually more so than the book. Haven't watched it in 15+ years, so don't know whether it would have the same effect. - Pete V
I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It has slowly turned into a dark comedy over the years |

Didn't see that till now. It was bad. Involved the "finger of God" that about sums up how bad it was . Guy does not know how to end a book but everything before the end is brilliant. Nuts |

Still an absolutely brilliant book, but I'm with you.
Don't read the Gunslinger series if you haven't already ... if you think the ending to the Stand was frustrating. |

Yeah, or he is deaf. Dont know the story behind the gif, was just busting Captains balls like he was very late to the conversation. |

I read a couple other books by him and it was the same story so I stopped reading him. You are right though that book was incredible. I think he's probably the best author at developing characters that I've ever read but if I had to do it all over again I may not just for that damn ending. - Cptmjl
I just read Mr. Mercedes, reads more like a crime thriller than anything of a horror story.
Also read Revival which is more inline with horror. Wasn't that bad. |

I quit reading once the internet was born and porn became digital. |

I read them both, Revival over my Florida vacation. Mr. Mercedes does read like a crime thriller, and actually ends pretty well. Not normal King.
Revival is a good book. I actually thought the ending was disturbing, but I could see some people not liking it. I did like it. |

Yeah I liked Revival, and the ending. Kind of left it open but came full circle with his brother. Him being the 1st "cure". |

School really ruined reading for me. I had to read so many books that I hated during high school and college that reading became more of a job then enjoyment. Haven't been able to find the right type of stuff to read. |

I was the complete opposite. Couldn't care less about school, and don't think I read an entire book my 5 years of Highschool. Now I love reading. |

If you are looking for something good to read, try Harry Dolan. Murder/mystery type stuff, but real fun (The Last Dead Girl and Bad Things Happen were great books). Also, Gillian Flynn has now become real, real big time with Gone Girl, but Dark Places and Sharp Objects were good books. Steven King's kid, Joe Hill, can also write -- really strong books.
