I think I like horror films for a whole different reason than you. You always know before the gory stuff takes place....... boobies!! - mdw7413
I am still a nerd at heart. All of those 70s and 80s slasher flicks always entertain me. Doesn't matter if it is part 8 of the franchise |

Sure, you're smiling now, but it's only a matter of time before the Rangers put that bag back on your head.

Steven King "It" probably was one of the creepiest for me when I was younger. A clown in a sewer system that murders people.

Totally. But when you get to the end of that 6 hour fright fest and find out it's a spider that was a huge let down. A lot of Stephen King's works were that way. All build up, great story, and no finale leaving you with a wtf feeling.
Makes me wonder what his sex life was like: 6 hrs of foreplay with nobody climaxing? |

Pet Cemetery was incredibly creepy for me, the movie actually more so than the book. Haven't watched it in 15+ years, so don't know whether it would have the same effect. |

Yeah, that movie was pretty creepy too.
Speaking of which.. "A cat named Bart that was hit by a car in Florida and then buried, showed up alive in a neighbor's yard five days later, but weak, dehydrated and in need of medical attention." |

I love King, but with him, its more about the journey than the conclusion. His endings most of the time are just, well, not satisfying. The gunslinger series was awesome, but after reading 3,500 + pages, was he kidding me with the ending.
The Stand was one of the greatest books I've ever read, but the ending, o.k. but not great.

I feel like vomiting every time he scalpels Jud's achilles. That one scene gets me every time. |

Judge was the man...how can you not love a character who would just sit on his porch drinking bud's and smoking cigs.
But yea, what makes that scene so great is the build up, you know its gonna happen, but they still creep you out with it anyway. |

There actually used to be a lot more just random threads, with some hilarious stuff. Less of that these days.
