Refs cheated Hawks. Crawford bad tonight.
The idiocy is flowing strong.
ANYONE who thinks those goals were soft hasn't got a clue. one a rope, one freaking deflected. one was the "interference" play, #1 was a perfect shot...Crow HAD to play deep in his net to protect against Carter coming to the net, but Carter skated out and pulled a shot. Soft? Good lord. - kwolf68
When a goalie is hot he will make most of these saves. Let's not blame others for all the goals scored against Crow. I din't think he played great but it sure wasn' all hi fault. Had a lot of helpers including the Reffs. |

Its a joke Rob. Carter walked in all alone on the second. The first Is a rocket from the slot by a goal scorer. the third his head is hit as the shot is coming. The fourth hit Brown's stick and went in. Softies all of them - Elbows15
I'm with ya...
...blaming the tender is the simplest explanation...always has been and always will be.
It's also often the wrong explanation. |

Oduya, Saad and Toews had VERY poor plays on 3 of those goals. I am not getting into bashing the refs, that's the stench of losers, especially when you've only been nailed for half the penalties the other guys got.
Hawks NOT tough enough and the Kings type of game is to pound and pound you. Then in the third period it starts to pay dividends for them.... players start giving up the puck too quick, they rush to clear the puck and fail, they WILT in the face of pressure. Seen it before and we saw it again tonight. The Kings play like a 'bad' team who has no other way to beat you other than intense forecheck and relentless pressure, but they are also very talented...talent + toughness = formidable team. And its a better team than what we got right now.
But lets talk about how the glorious team with zero flaws got hosed by the refs and Crawford was bad. |

When you start making the "they had an effect on the game excuse" then you are excusing the weaknesses within the team.
The one no call on the interference against Shaw was bad, but that was early in the game and the Hawks were on a PP anyway. Hard to get a call in that situation. Losing teams look to the refs to bail them out. Oduya should have gotten a hold tonight, refs missed it. It happens. Hawks had twice the PowerPlay time than the Kings....what will it take to beat them? An 8-2 PowerPlay advantage? Talk about inspiring confidence.
Hawks NOT tough enough, just like last year. Kings make the money plays. And they don't do it with finesse and pizzazz, they do it with tremendous toughness and grit. Something the Hawks have in terribly low supply. - kwolf68
spare me the the toughness and grit of the kings mantra...is that how they loss 7 of their previous 8. |

Refs scoreboard reffed tonight. Shaw was mauled all night. Never got a call. I don't blame thr refs but to say they had no effect on the game is naive. Just like saying the Hawks were run out of the building. - Elbows15
Refs or otherwise, they were in a position to close out the game and they couldn't. Defensive side of the game fell apart in the last 6 minutes when the Kings made their push looking to tie.
Sure, Shaw got mauled but he didn't back down. But that's where a big bruising winger is required to lay the body on a guy like Regehr all night. |

Those 8 losses are negated by the banner hanging in their rafters. Basically the SAME exact team. Stanley Cup hangover is how I figure it. Now the 2nd half of the season is there and they will ratchet it up.

Crawford isn't that great of a goalie. I'd take 5 before him in a SCF game 7
Quick lundquivst Rinne Price Rask. |

We have none of those, though Bickell got credited with 5 hits. I swear I must have been asleep when he did that. I barely noticed him. |

Tonight wasn't on him. I am NOT a Crow fan and believe given his contract and our cap hell, he'd be a good player to try to move, but the guy has won MORE Cups than 3 of those goalies you mention...
AND ... outplayed Rask when those two met for all the marbles.
So WHY is all the discussion about Crawford? When it shouldn't be. |

Failing to score the 4th hurt more. They had Quick down and out and hit him with the puck. |

Not long after that Toews hit the post with that extreme angle shot.
I saw a few rebounds out there tonight, but no one will go to the net, other than Shaw. It's a problem in my view. |

Crawford is horrible to watch night in and night out. Didn't deserve an Allstar vote doesn't deserve any of the hype of being a top notch goalie |

You seriously can't compare the two.
Kings have virtually exact same team as Cup winning team.
Hawks lost TONS after the first and while not as much after the second, they did lose some very key pieces.
Not the same |

NOT RELEVANT.
NO ONE here is claiming he is a "top notch goalie" nor he did or did not deserve the all star game. Issues with tonight's game go beyond Crawford.
He is NOT horrible at all. I don't think he's ELITE, but far from horrible. It's a joke someone would say he's a horrible goalie.
You're a mad cap person...a Kings fan coming into our forum after your team won bashing our goalie. Weird. |

Kings aren't close to the same team without Pearson(not sure he'll be coming back in time), an effective Richards, Voynov, Mitchell, etc. And it shows. They aren't quite as good as last year, and should have lost tonight.

What the Hawks did? No argument.
But it's exceedingly hard to repeat as champions using that model (it's why 2011 and 2012 were one and done years even though we had the vaunted core)
