The 2013/14 Avs and the 2014/15 Preds shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence(even though i just did it...). The Avs had all the signs of a fluke regular season team and it proved to be true. These Preds are achieving their success the right way, the way that translates in the playoffs.

Yup great goalie and a very solid defence group but Ribiero, Jokinen, Gaustad and an aging Mike Fisher aren't a group of centers that win Stanley Cups. I hope they meet the Jets in the first round - it would be fast an nasty.

If the Winnipegs can dump that useless stiff Pavolec and get themselves an NHL goalie they will be very dangerous and a team to avoid.

But I see you agree about Phaneuf.

There's nobody like Neon Dion.

Pair him with Rundblad and you"ll go far, real far.

Speaking of going real far, wanna bet the Leafs will go on a win streak and take themselves out of a good draft pick?

They already got a better goalie in Hutchinson. The kid is dynamite and a Hawk killer.

They boys will play hard now and finish 9th or 10th in the East and end up with that mid round pick that needs 3 years in the minors to develop.

That is unless Shanahan has balls and strips it down to the wood by mid February so they can go on a 20 game losing streak.

Then they should play him like a #1. Pavolec and bad refereeing cost them the game in Pittsburgh last night.

I think the top four all round defenseman after Phaneuf of course are, Doughty, Weber, Keith and Suter and I'd go with that order too.
- paulr

Dion is in a league all his own. The first 3 depends on what day of the week. I think Keith is better defensively than Doughty and Weber. They get the nod offensively. Really can't go wrong with any of those three. Suter isn't in their class, imo.

Never been overly impressed with Suter either, but he is a difference maker.

Sportsnet is on now and are calling Phaneuf a good #3 who if surrounded with a solid leadership core could be a good contributor. Yeah but he's not paid as a #3!!!

No it was either 32 or 27; but keep blasting Rundblad to gain brownie points

Evenin' Rob hope things are well in your end of the pond...

Nice to see the Sox brought Beckham back today. They've certainly put themselves in a good spot here...pretty stellar offseason by Hahn...

I'm surprised by some of the Beckham angst I'm hearing. It's a minor move that strengthens the bench. If he's hitting below .200 the Sox can trade/release him.

No biggie.
