How many times did you splurge into your Islanders beanie last night? - rangerdanger94
I don't think "splurge" was the word you were looking for. |

Really well actually, caused fits and agitation to most of the Pens players, the isles lost that series bc Nabby was worse than Fleury...... Please stop posting if u haven't watched any isles games..... |

Why? Sorry if im making too much sense, but your argument is mindless? How do you know what that fourth line is going to be like in the playoffs? Theyve never been there. All im saying is capuano has no IQ when it comes to matchups. Thats pretty well documented - rferrone
They were there two years ago and gave the pens fits..just please stop already......and we all know cappy is what he is NOBODY thinks he is Toe Blake or Herb Brooks |

Really well but lost the series. So by your logic, it went really well for the rangers last night in the 2nd and 3rd |

No I don't trust him right now. If he continues to struggle they will have to look elsewhere , but whoever is backing up is going to play a lot more the 2nd half. I didn't say they were going to win all those games but Halak will be rested here and there the 2nd half of the season. - Vukota
I also do not trust him, but I do not see the Isles bringing in anyone else right now so he needs to play. |

When does varlamov return? They could benefit from either pickard or berra |

If the Isles had a decent goalie they win that series. |

Winning in the playoffs has a lot to do with experience too. Outside boychuk and Leddy you don't have much of that so I can see that being a potential Achilles heel for you guys, but your team is definitely deep enough and talented enough to overcome it. - rangerdanger94
This coming from the guy who said Staal and Girardeau are better than any Islanders defender andKlein is better than everyone not name Boychuck. That first islander goal was a good demonstration of that by Girardi |

Yup and that's why hoarding all these points early on will help ease the pain of when Halak doesn't play. Isles have a bunch of home games coming up against not so good teams and you'll see Johnson play in a bunch of those |

I'm not sure. Just do not see the Isles moving on from Johnson. He won his last game so that might buy him even more of a chance. Isles do not give up on guys easily. |

Your coaching is weak man. Cap had no clue what hes doing. Bookmark this conversation for may. You'll see what im saying although probably not because it's your team and obviously there's a bias - rferrone
Weak to the tune of coaching the #1 team in the eastern conference. And its not as if he's coaching a team full of battle-tested vets. I am and many on this site are not fans of Cappy's, but credit where credit is due: he's got this team humming and the chemistry between the players and the coaching staff is there. Cappy has something to do with that. |

Defense is ranked in the lower half of the league. Not saying Boychuk, Leddy and Hamonic aren't good, because they are, but even with Halak playing very well the overall team GAA is hovering amidst the lower ten in the league. - MidnightMarauder
That's ok they don't spend a lot of time in their own end |

I heard on satellite radio, the isles 2nd half season consists of majority home games w/having a tremendous winning record at home, so it looks good.... |

Girardi is trash. Why we let stralman walk and signed him instead is beyond me. Fans love him because he can "play top pair minutes" yeah wonderful. Hes playing with mcdonagh. Watch film on him at the beginning of the season with Staal. Hes embarrassing |

Go to any other board, i think you guys are great. I just admitted before if we werent in the playoffs i would root for you. All ive been saying this whole time is Capuano doesnt have the chops to match lines well in the playoffs. Keep chastising me for it thats fine. Like i said, bookmark this board and talk to me in the spring - rferrone
we have been saying for years that cappy doesn't match lines well..this is like telling us the earth is round...we know... that being said for the first time in forever..our four lines are better than the other teams four lines |

Do you trust Johnson? He has looked quite pedestrian in a lot of his starts. - MidnightMarauder
No, but Halak can't play every night. Maybe playing against his old team will light a fire under Johnson's a**? I watched him with the Rangers and Boston. He's got the ability to be a solid reliable back-up. He just hasn't shown it yet this year. |

Cap isnt any good at line matchups, and even though your bottom six are great, i think it catches up to you in may. You cant roll four lines in the playoffs - rferrone
Someone better tell Sutter that. |
