It's the Rangers. I hate them. I'm not gonna sit here and sing koombaya, and say great game. It's been 20+ years of salary floor vs ceiling. I sat there for years being embaressed. I'm Chirping now. Period.

i know.... but you are always angry.id rather have you mad at the rangers then us for once....its cool we stil love you

If healthy the isles will make noise. I don't care about years past. This team right now is legit.

Islanders have to win at least one round this year. I do not care how good they are in the regular season. If they cannot win at least one round with this talent, then Cappy needs to be fired.

I thought you don'tCare about years past
- rferrone

I don't but it was in response to 20 years vs 30 years.

Side note: I couldn't be happier that Dan Boyle chose the inferior New York team.

Winning in the playoffs has a lot to do with experience too. Outside boychuk and Leddy you don't have much of that so I can see that being a potential Achilles heel for you guys, but your team is definitely deep enough and talented enough to overcome it.

ranger fans confuse me they tell me to not live in the past and not bring up four straight cups then they tell me that we haven't won anything in 20 years... i'm confused..all i know is all of our stanley cup videos are in standard defintion.

The only team who scares me in the east is the Habs. They match up well against the isles.

HAlak took the Habs deep and quite frankly outplayed price.

Side note: pretty sure he's ok with "inferior" too. First seed doesn't always win the cup. You guys have a better shot at the president's trophy. It's going to be interesting. I think your lack of a system is going to hurt you. Getting outshot every night will catch up eventually

Definitely not angry. More like passionate. Again 20+ years of hearing Rangizzzz in the coliseum when the isles were a basement team is enough to piss anyone off. I'm not even angry. I was smiling all night last night. All three periods.

We wouldn't face an Atlantic team until the Conference Finals, if we made it that far.

If the season ended today, we'd play the Capitals in the first round. Then the winner of NYR/PIT. If we won that series we'd face whoever "won" the Atlantic. DET/BOS and TBL/MTL would be the first round matchups.

Yea but you guys didn't win. It's valuable experience but a large chunk of your team doesn't know what it takes to go 2 or 3 rounds deep, yet.

You guys remind me of the Chicago team that lost in the WCF the year before winning it all. The experience from that run propelled them to the Cup right after.

Or they mention the lottery picks and forget the guys like Lee, Hamonic, Martin and Casey that were acquired outside the 1st round.

Lack of a system?? I read what zooook said in the post. The isles absolutely have a system. It's called skating....hard....every shift. Outworking other teams. Winning battles. The isles established their forecheck and didn't let the Rangers break out.

What system is that the one that is second in goals for per game or the fact they give up the 4th fewest shots a game? Plus that's like the second time in the last what 20 games they have been outshot. They are rarely outshot during any game

Ranger fans have no business bringing up first round picks to anyone. Hugh Jessiman where you at?

Depends how the wildcard race ends. You could play an Atlantic team if you stay as the 1 seed. [url]

The Islanders allow the 4th fewest shots against per game in the entire league. They average 27.3 SA/gp, which for the record, is behind #3 - TBL who allows 27.2 and #2 - who allows 27.1. They're one or two tenths of a shot away from being in a 3 way tie for 2nd fewest shots allowed per game in the league.

Getting out-shot every night won't be their problem.

Cap isnt any good at line matchups, and even though your bottom six are great, i think it catches up to you in may. You cant roll four lines in the playoffs

It's 3 games of domination. Let's see how the playoffs go is right. Trust me the Rangers want no part of the isles in post season.
- kindlyrick

It's January, I am sure a lot of Penguins fans were just as confident as you are now, when it comes to a potential Rangers playoff match up.

Happy for you that your team is good and you can pump your team's tires all you want. But the Islanders dominating in January means next to nothing come April.

It's dumb. You still have to pick these guys and develop them and not give them away for nothing. The Islanders had to go the rebuild route. They could not get any decent FA's to sign. It was very painful, but they built things the right way.
