Would you get rid of Cappy with a 1st round exit? I hate to even think 1st round exit.

I know a lot of people on here hate him because well in their eyes they know more about hockey then most coaches in the NHL Seriously though the way the players talk about him and to be honest this is the fist time he has had an NHL lineup its tough to argue with the numbers right now. It would depend on how they lost as well. My guess barring a collapse he is night going anywhere and to be honest as much as it pains other to hear this he is deserving of staying right now. A lot can change from now until the spring though

Yes, when has he had a full roster to work with? You counting the lockout year when they had a 37 yr old fizz in goal who couldn't stop a beach ball? Look at their D from that year as well and tell me I'm wrong

I'm not concerned about the playoffs I'm excited about them. 1st rd knockout would suck for sure but with this team being built the right way finally they will be making some noise for a long time to come. This team is being set up nicely for the long haul.
- Vukota

Exactly. This team is perfectly built for the playoffs barring any major injuries. I'm not going to sit here and make pretend they're not to appease other teams fans. Honestly it's pointing out the obvious at this point.

No question this team was better. Still think Cappy has to find a way to get this team past the first round. Maybe it's not fair to lay it all on the coach? I just think there is too much talent for a 1st round exit to bring back this coach.

they only know the names of Hickey, Strait, Donovan......

Oh no. They were quite specific in that debate. Girardi was a facking dumpster fire again last night.

Like I said it would depend on how they were eliminated. If they got knocked out in a brutal 7 game series probably not. If they got swept in 4 or lost in 5 and looked terrible then probably but right now the coach is the last thing on my mind right now

I've actually been a bit of a proponent of these games mean nothing argument, but that is mostly too counteract some of our more reactionary board members that believe they mean too much.

- Pete V

I get the point but when it's reactionary from a fan I know takes regular games way too seriously it comes off as being butt hurt. Makes them look foolish.

We shall see what? You said Girardi and Staal are better than ANY Islander defender and Klein is better than ANYONE not named Boychuck. I'm still cracking up about it. That Islander hater douche sbroads was all too willing to join in that debate which was as funny as Girardi was bad AGAIN last night. Nothing to see that's what already happened.

We'll see which defensemen take their game up a notch when it counts and which ones crumble.

Come on you know this routine. First it was lets see if they can keep this start up all month. Then it was lets see if they can play like this until Christmas. Then it was like lets see them play like this to the All Star break. You know this movie you've seen it a thousand times

Guys like boychuk and especially Leddy aren't used to matching up against the top opposition while playing 35+ mins a night in the playoffs. Well see what happens.

Cappy doesn't give anyone that much ice time. They will play about the same minutes they are playing now.
