I hear what you are saying, its valid, but as far as the eye test hes lost a step and not the same forechecker he once was. I am not saying any of those 3 guys would be a viable top 6 option whatsoever...but if we were bringing in another top 6, jagr, which would be surprising but is possible, then that could make kuni expendable and we could bring a better grittier bottom 6 guy in...

Eye test is bullsh*t when he's on pace to put up 60 points. Production trumps your eye test any day of the week.

My guess would be if Crosby looks frustrated it’s because he’s not 100% healthy and unable to play at the level he wants to. Tavares had some issues earlier this year with his knee where he just didn’t look 100% and his frustration was pretty evident.

The good news is that there’s a lot of time before the playoffs and if needed, you guys could have Crosby sit for a couple of weeks if it gets him back to 100% and likely not lose your spot in the division. When you get everyone back healthy it should be pretty interesting to see if the team gets on a big roll.

That's my theory as well. People think superstars get mad at others all the time, but the fact is they know their body better than anything. They know their abilities to an insane level of comfort and consistency. When it isn't all there you can tell.

I doubt they would do that deal. Hanzal is a building block for the future.

He's 27, they are close to full rebuild, imo...

Not sure if he'll remain a core piece or if they would trade him for the right value.

It was easy for us to see with Tavares how frustrated he was and although he never said anything about it until a couple of weeks before the allstar break it was apparent he didn’t have the push out of that knee that he usually does and couldn’t play like he had been before the injury. Thankfully he’s back to 100% and the difference is night and day. I could tell when we played you guys last that Crosby wasn’t right because usually he gets 3-4 good chances against us a game at a minimum and I can’t remember one from last game.

I think Boedker is more likely, but he's out for another month. I've heard mixed things about him that he's been on all 4 lines looking for a bit more. Honestly, they'd be wise to send Yandle and possibly Boedker for a big fish scoring winger. I can also see them doing a similar move like pitt/Nashville did with the horn for Neal trade.

Well, if we use last year's playoffs for reference, we could tell quite well his wrist was not 100% (we didn't know the wrist, but we knew something) by how his goal production plumented. His possession and assists were fairly stable, but he couldn't bang it home. He also did not say anything about it publicly till after we lost.

The last few weeks, same thing again, seemed to have lost a step and some power. Since this has been said lower body/hip, you lose that push and drive off of a leg or both which would hinder nearly every aspect of your game. Same thing here, nothing officially said until he bowed out of the All Star game and got the injection.

I don't like the stubborn, never admitting to being hurt right away crap during the regular season. Save that for the Stanley Cup Finals and playoffs, rest before hand in the regular season if there was no risk to missing the cup run.

The 4th Period says the Pens may have interest in bringing Andrew Ference in... what??? Would anyone want him in Pitt? I feel like he's another Scuderi, and one of those is enough...

That's actually an interesting theory.

Many have speculated his wrist still isn't right.

Btw...my favorite Center Ice teams right now are the Isles and Jets. Entertaining teams to watch play.

Your squad is deep as balls and is, as of now, my pick to come out of the East. I think Garth will get you guys one more vet d-man to round things out.

Your biggest question IMO will be how Halak handles the pressure. During his run with the Habs in '10, nothing was expected of him. Since then, when saddled with the #1 role in St. Louis, he didn't fare well. We'll see how he does.

At this rate we should probably just offer Sid, Geno, Scuderi, Letang, and Maatta for RNH, Hall, Yak, Eberle, Drais, and Nurse and get it over with...

If he had only 1 more year, I'd JUMP at that deal. Scuds has 2 more, this would shave off 1 year in that scenario. But this would be a lateral move at best for a 125k save.
