I actually thought about Stewart, but evidently people are saying that he is totally done as a player. - nbartley9
If the price is right I'd go for it. Big body to play 3rd or 2nd line. Winnik would be the other piece. Boom. Suddenly we are a stronger and harder team to play against. |

I've been for it, although now I'm not sure who it takes and how we clear cap. |

Stewart is a slug, Winnik or Bergenheim are the go to guys right now.
I'd also dangle Sutter out there. See what his value is at. |

Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying we would be able to get all 3 of those? Or those are 3 separate options. Because if it's all 3, I am sold. If we have to pick out of those options, I'm not sure it's quite enough, but I may consider the car filled with lazy midgets. |

I hear that a few teams will throw in a blind clown, but that's the absolute limit. |

Did you see him get absolutely tossed around when Perron was punching the player on top of Tanger? All of a sudden there goes Sutturd flying across the ice, like a rag doll. - nbartley9
Yeah he gets tossed every firkin game at least once.
One of the weakest players I have ever seen. |

Another game less about hockey than who hits harder/is more annoying. I like getting tougher, but these types of games are not playing to our strengths - YouMeAndDupuis9

Agree on all of this.
We would have to clear close to $4M in cap space for Stewart and thats just way too risky.
Winnik and Berg are great targets as long as they come fairly cheap.
I would love to make a Sutter-based trade for Hanzal or Vermette. |

Team has too many p*ssies and too few leaders on it! |

Sometimes I really don't understand MJ.
Against the Jets he used Perron - Sutter - Horny and they did well.
Crosby comes back and instead of changing Sutter for him, he juggles all the lines.
Both Perron and Horny showed instant chemistry with Sid. Kuni and Bennett played really well with Sutter last december.
But then MJ goes for:
Kuni - Sid - Perron,
Bennett on his off hand - Sutter - Hornqvist.
I mean, why???

lappy and downie should not be playing together, bartley you hit that on the nose...those guys need better players around them to be effective...neither of them are better players playing together
sid looks frustrated and frankly I barely noticed that first line out there yesterday, perron is our best offensive piece right now it seems
id take a flyer on stewart if he didnt cost much, and sutter is worthless, he shows moments of hope and then it all comes crashing back down to earth in a fireball...
as much as I like kunitz he just hasnt been doing it for me the last year or 2...winnik would be nice, glencross would be nice but calgary isnt getting rid of him...komorov from toronto would be great, he could actually make downie or lappy a better player I think...

Seems to be a tad more experimenting due to Malkin being out.
Doing this is just "okay" now... its past the halfway mark of the season, but with one of the 2 big stars out, I guess its not the worst thing to do to test the waters on some pairings.

So wait,
Kunitz (coming off of his best statistical season) hasnt been doing it, but Winnik, Glencross and Komorov are good options?

30 points in 40 games this season, with a plethora of injuries all over the place to work with.
Gotta be honest... your opinion on Kunitz is just bad, stupid, and VERY ignorant. On pace for 60 points while being shuffled between the top 3 lines and all of this team's experimenting. |

I hear what you are saying, its valid, but as far as the eye test hes lost a step and not the same forechecker he once was. I am not saying any of those 3 guys would be a viable top 6 option whatsoever...but if we were bringing in another top 6, jagr, which would be surprising but is possible, then that could make kuni expendable and we could bring a better grittier bottom 6 guy in... |

calm down dude no need to take it personally...point wise there is no arguing, but he just seems to have lost a step to me, and he isnt the checker he once was |

My guess would be if Crosby looks frustrated it’s because he’s not 100% healthy and unable to play at the level he wants to. Tavares had some issues earlier this year with his knee where he just didn’t look 100% and his frustration was pretty evident.
The good news is that there’s a lot of time before the playoffs and if needed, you guys could have Crosby sit for a couple of weeks if it gets him back to 100% and likely not lose your spot in the division. When you get everyone back healthy it should be pretty interesting to see if the team gets on a big roll.

Ehrhoff's health pending, we have to keep Scuderi unfortunately. The only silver lining if Ehrhoff ends up being out for a little bit is we should get that extended look at Pouliot weve been wanting. |
