That lies the problem with this organization. It's inability to develop forwards that have the ability to be top six forwards. Bennett is a former first round pick and hasn't developed at all. Some will use the built in excuses because of injuries. Fact be told, he isn't a top six forward.

i agree that is an organizational issue.

granted, high picks havent really been used on them. and many picks have been traded away. and the ones they have picked, have been pretty crappy. its just been a totality of junk.

i do think bennett could be a second line forward if he can capitalize on his strengths. however, his weaknesses are becoming pretty glaring, to the point where he will never be a complete winger. however, i'm not ready to discard him. right now, and for the foreseeable future, he is cheap. so im all for keeping him around in the tweener role. the problem is the pens really dont have any competent muscle.

people can try to sell me all they want on bringing in guys like lapierre. that doesnt do anything. downie could be effective but he is too volatile and scummy. they need guys that have size but can also play the game. granted, i realize they dont grow on trees.

I think, given I saw the four cups, I can safely say I'm not a band wagon fan. As far as your trade proposal, you've got three people who told you it wasn't realistic before I did. I'm here talking hockey, sorry it bothers you.

He's not even factoring in that other teams would easily offer ARI better for all those players. I'm not even going to touch the actual components he offered coming back to them.

deal was honestly a joke.

getting a pick in the 20s, you HOPE the pick develops into a Perron type talent. getting a player like him for that kind of return is absolutely awesome. he and hornqvist fix a lot of our winger problems for the years to come.

not concerned about this team... this time last year the division race was essentially over and look what it got us. this team getting gut checks is a good thing.

That trade just highlights everything wrong with the oilers. I cant believe they traded away a guy with that much heart and skill.

Another game less about hockey than who hits harder/is more annoying. I like getting tougher, but these types of games are not playing to our strengths
