As a writer you have to have thick skin. I mean the point is to be read and discussed. I don't need to do research to back up my opinion that isn't my job. We have differing opinions from time to time so what. Ryan Wilson's opinion is not gospel and shouldn't be taken as such. I have been coming here for 6 years and can't recall John or Brian be disrespectful or take comments from his readers and blast them on Twitter. It's just tacky in my book.

I think when you take the time to put together material to show what you're putting to paper, you should be given some credit. Not saying it's gospel but it's well thought out. It can be a bit irritating(I know from writing my own material) when people take the time to not jus discuss it but tear it to pieces how they see fit.

If someone wants to defend their work I'm fine with it. Maybe it is tacky. But maybe people should have the same thick skin that they expect him to have. I'm indifferent to this. I follow him and I rarely ever see this happen.

Your insults don't bother me. I find them funny and entertaining. Perhaps it would bother me if I valued your opinions.

Deep down you'll know if this is directed at you or not.

Is the Hockeybuzz "cap central" fairly accurate?
- Topshelf Mountain

The cap hits are accurate. The only thing it doesn't really show is potential bonuses.

I worry about Lapierre and Downie trying to prove their worth to the team more than the other and potentially trying to one up each other.
- PensFan1103

sure, that could happen, but they are professionals, and are playing for whats supposed to be a top team, so I think if anything it drives them both to be better players...I would like to think tochett will have the same talking to with lappy and he will get his shti together

both of these guys should be aspiring to be the gary roberts type

Cap hits are correct, but with us having multiple LTIR... its a tad confusing to look at if you don't want to do math.

Cool, thanks! This site has potential to corner the Capgeek market with a bit of tinkering, although I'm sure some Ivy Leaguer has its replacement in the works.

speaking of, cap central has incorrectly called it LITR (as in a liter of cola) for at least six years now

Twitter thing where the author points out that there is a group of 10-15 posters who engage in a 'circle jerk' of critique. The guys who want to diminish the fact that Sutter is a relatively poor player and RW points it out constantly. That Fleury is overpriced, &c. The response has been a bunch of personal attacks and claims of classlessness.

RW also points out constantly that Kris Letang is 'a beast', which statistically speaking is true. He drives possession and has decent statistics. Still, I think the Penguins would be far better without Kris Letang for other very well known reasons. This doesn't mean that my reaction to RW should be to argue that since I hate mathematics that he should take his dot charts and shove them.

I respect the amount of work he puts into his posts, but he comes off as condescending a lot of the times. The whole Sutter bashing seems like he is trolling certain people on the boards.

Also as Guile said you have to factor in LTIR. And to accurately do that you need to know what the Pens cap was at the day they put Dupuis on LTIR. The highest possible ceiling for the Pens is $73,644,167 but it is definitely less than that, but by how much I do not know.

The idea that Mario would allow Jagr back on the team is loony.
- ChrisMS

Not at all. Mario is a business man, and if Jagr is "the piece" that puts them over the hump for the Stanley Cup, he wouldn't think twice about bringing him back.

Isn't it a given that a 68 jersey will be in the Consol rafters? I don't see the fit on this team this year, but I can't imagine him not having a retirement ceremony.
