And yet he has more hits than Lapierre. Check the stats instead of going by reputation on what you're getting with Lapierre.

Lapierre doesn't hit people. Only hits he throws are the dirty ones once every 2-3 seasons. He was brought to be an agitator, but hasn't gotten under anyone's skin.

I found him to be rather irritating.

Common theme with pens fans seems to be confusion btn dirty and physical.
- Cptmjl

He probably will appear to be a physical player in the Eastern Conference. In the West, he was just a guy.

I dont disagree that goc is the "better" player, but it seems to be to be a fair trade with the qualities needed by each team going their respective ways. Goc isnt a physical player, but he will play the body, certainly not one to stand up for his team mates at least physically...we needed some strength and meanness...I hope he and downie go crazy on the flyers next time we play them

Well one more reason to despise the Pens.

You guys dumped one dippoop but still too many douchebags on the team for me to cheer for them. First round exit.

I thought you'd hate us for fleecing the Oil for Perron. Better than I ever expected. 6 goals, 9 pts in 9 games. Thanks!

He graduated from the Eklund school of journalism. I'll believe it when I see it.

Where does Goc even fit in on the Blues? Who will he play with? Guessing fourth line due to the Blues depth on center, and Goc's skill.

He will most likely play with Reaves and Ott on the fourth line. But knowing Hitchcock he will probably also see time on both PKs, both PPs, the 2nd and 3rd lines, and in the press box.

He's going to announce his retirement and be named Special Assistant to the Assistant to the GM, Martin Brodeur.

Blues can't win a Stanley Cup so they're going for whatever trophy the top Alumni Team wins.

Nobody is talking about how much better Goc is on the PK than Lappy. I think that needs to be mentioned, b/c Lappy has been on the ice for a lot of pp goals against. Plus, he's faster than Lappy and is better in puck possession. That fourth line is shaping up well now. Of course, I would never compare Ott to Lappy, they aren't even the same currency, better yet coin.

Yeah... He's been very good. Our PK has been as good as it's ever been. I'm a little amazed by the hate for Goc on our board. I guess if you can't score playing with two complete stiffs like Adams and Sill, you're a bum. It's ridiculous.

Good Pk'r, Good FO guy.

Goc is a turd, he will be totally invisible;especially on a team as physical as the Blues, enjoy.

Well that was a gift.

Anytime you can trade a sack of poop for a decent bottom 6 C, I'd call that a win.

Man this is actually a really good trade. Lappy is not effective enough and has been just okay on the penalty kill and his positioning in the dzone and board battles have been losses. I was hoping they just dumped him and called McRae up but this works.

I think McRae might be the answer next year but dont you think this is just a place holder for when Sobo inevitablly returns for the playoffs?

After Polak's comments and the cap hit is it possible?

This is maybe a precursor to moving Berglund. Another depth player who won't hurt you too much going up in the line up.

It would be prorated

Didnt see the polak comments

He has to honor one year with the blues and the playoffs count as a year

No. I always like Perron but the cap was an issue and someone up high made the mistake thinking Stewart would pan out better.

But it led to the team we have now.

I am happy for Perron but he still has holes in his game. He used to be sound positionally and in defensive play but that has left him.

Basically he mentioned Sobie was not okay playing low in the line up and was happy to get a chance to cntribute on a top line. Though Sobie did have chances. Basically he over values himself and does not like St.Louis. It is possible he would come back to become a free agent. I get prorated but would the prorating be enough? Do you recall when Radulov came back for Nashville just before the play offs? I am not sure you want to bring someone back that has an attitude.

I hear ya so maybe not bring him back but trade his rights for a pick to say Carolina where he can waste his prime years on a loser

I wouldn't count on having sobotka for the playoffs. I think that bridge has been burned. He wanted top 6 minutes, that wasn't happening with this team.

Even if his season ended early enough to come back, do you think that he will to play bottom 6 minutes? I guess it is possible just to burn the year contract, but I doubt that both the Blues and Sobotka are both going to agree on anything this year.

He in all likelihood has played his last game in a Blues jersey. If/when he comes back, expect it to be after a trade.

Thats a steep price to pay for a rental in Vermette

Blues will not give him an extension at the number he is asking for.

Why do we need yet another center? Are you wanting to push Vermette to RW or Statsny?

- sycsam

He shoots left so I would slide him right into Berlund's spot on Stastny's LW, plus it never hurts to have guys who can cover the center position. It seems like they're going to move Berglund before next year to make room for Fabbri anyway so might as well get someone for the cup run this year.
