I do think the Rangers can use a guy or two that have a little bite in their game that can actually play a little. I think the Rangers thought that Glass would step right into Dorsett's spot and they would be richer by having a third round pick in the Dorsett trade, but that hasn't turned out. Couple that with Carcillo not getting re-signed and the team lost a couple of useful sh*t stirrers that can create some energy when the team is flat, and get under the other team's skin. I think the Rangers could really use a fourth liner that can do this. - Pete V
Seems like you guys have been chasing the next Prust since he left |

I was fine with Dorsett and Carcillo. Both of those guys can play. Glass is pretty much useless, and outside of him they have no one that even remotely fills an agitator role.

He is gonna get Hank killed one day. It's going to happen if he keeps running the other teams goalies intentional or not - Vukota
Nah, I can think of only one game where Kreider was responsible. The Price incident was their own defender tripping him, and the Pitt incident was Fleury coming out of the paint. Last night was a love tap. Ive seen Hank get destroyed in net plenty of times. What Clutterbuck did to Brassard was more dangerous to a goalie than what Kreider did to Halak while putting on the brakes. |

They desperately need some of that.

I agree with both of the general assessments being thrown around in here.
When it was still a close game...way too much passing, not enough shooting. I said to the wife, the Rangers had many good opportunities to shoot the puck,Boyle and Brassard especially, and just kept waiting for the "perfect" opportunity. We do it on the PP sometimes ourselves and it's infuriating to watch.
Tanner Glass is poop, not that any of you don't know that already. He is not good enough to justify playing and he's not intimidating or tough enough for your team. That should be priority number one for you guys during the deadline.
Edit: I don't know if the Devils would trade him within the division but Jordan Tootoo would be a solid addition. |

I'm just saying excuse or no excuse he keeps it up and Hank is going to pay for it eventually. |

They sure didn't seem to miss him last season when they went to the finals without him.
It's hard to base things overall on how they look against a certain team. The Islanders sure do have a hard time against Montreal this year but the Rangers have fared decently against them.
Just because the Islanders seem to push the Rangers around a bit doesn't make that a huge issue to overcome. If the Rangers got a few bounces last night, and the Islanders didn't, last night was up for grabs.
As good as the Islanders look I refuse to allow myself to fall into that trap to try and get "tougher" in order to win. |

The thing I think that bothers me, is that if they are winning a game, fine, try to make the perfect play. They just don't change their style at all when they are down in a game. Game like last night, anyone who had a shot should have taken it. Can't be all pretty when your losing, get back to the basics. Shoot from everywhere and crash the net. |

The islanders offense is great right now but once the playoffs come around the rules are a bit more lenient and the defense is tighter I'm hoping they can be slowed down. Experience is key and the Rangers have a lot more of that than the islanders both players wise and coaches wise. |

If Jordan Tootoo is the answer, to all of the Rangers problems, they have a lot more to worry about than I originally thought.

Good thing about the isles right now is they can play any style the other team wants. True different animal in the playoffs but its not like they are just going to forget how to play once the playoffs start if they make it |

I want car bomb back I think he'd fit right back into that fourth line spot. Could do without the stupid penalties though... |

The league is generally soft on the whole. The Islanders are one of the few teams that seem to have some toughness throughout their lineup, on defense and on the bottom six forward lines.
I don't think they should try to seek out a dude that can't do much other than throw a big hit. The Rangers need to find someone that isn't afraid of the physical play and can play a bit. There aren't a lot of players like that, around the league, that will be easily accessible. |

Especially the way Halak played last night. An "ugly" goal might have been the only way you were scoring in the 2nd period. Then it's a one-goal game and everyone in blue and orange probably grips their sticks just a bit more tighter. |

I think the whole Kreider thing is so blown out of proportion, we just use it as a running joke around here. Kind of like how Pitt fans think Staal is one of the dirtiest players in the league. |

There is still a lot to be determined this season. The Rangers still have two games in hand and if they convert on those extra games, despite their head to head, it's only a three point differential in the standings.
Not counting on it but first place is still not out of the question. It's not all hopeless after last night. |

The answer to all your problems?
I don't believe I ever said that. The Devils should be selling, and Tootoo can actually stick handle and maybe score a goal or two. He can definitely fight and not be intimidated. You guys feasted on the Western Conference, a whole different animal, I'm just saying a guy like Tootoo would help big time, that's it. |

Yea and that's scary. You guys can match up against speed with speed. Or you can match toughness with toughness. You're capable of grinding out greasy wins or playing a finesse possession game.
In Cappy I trust though |

Prust is generally a player that can't do much else than throw a hit, flop and fight.
Don't miss him in the slightest.
The Rangers made a huge mistake in signing Glass but I think they made that signing with the hope they could address their lack of grit. I think they will try to address this come the deadline but it should not be at the sake of young talent. |

Of course not. So much time left. I still hate when teams like the Flyers get points because there is so much time left and I still feel like even though they are like 18 points behind the isles they could still catch them |
