Would you give up next yrs 1st round pick? Might be in the top 10. How about huberdeau, petrovich and 2015 1st round pick for kessel - harveykline
Yup, I'd do it.

Like I said, all depends on WHO you read... - PanthersGoal
Right.. I choose to read things put out by Darren Dreger and Bob MacKeznie, though. I would love Kessel don't get me wrong, but it's pointless to get involved with it. EK says we're going after Evander Kane.... why? Also, why would Toronto trade him to us when there are teams who could use him to win a Cup... teams that would REALLY over pay. |

1. Evander Kane is important to some hope of them making the playoffs, won't happen.
2. Kessel would be moved here due to the attractive young pieces we have, and some of the more friendlier contracts we can give them. Not a given, of course not..but I wouldn't be shocked. |

We just signed our number one center for a 4mil long term contract. That nothing in today's standard. Next yr we have potential 13 mil ufa salary comming off the books. The following yr we have Campbell's salary potential comming off the books. There's money to spend |

If Hayes or Pirri are scratched again gallant should be fired |

I've been rooting for you guys, but it looks like things are slipping away. I'm guessing that DT is going to shed some salaries at the deadline to clear up some cap space for a big FA over pay. Who is going to be available in the Summer? |

Maybe Campbell. That's probably it. You can have him, by the way. |

No need to come up with a different philosophy that we already preach. This team needs a bonafide 30 goal scorer. Kids maturing sounds great and it's happening, but we're never in/ or never have chosen THE scorer with the pick, so we need to get one. It will take some of our "prized pieces" to do that. Luongo (except for just recently) has done a great job, and he probably has just a few of these seasons left. Defense hasn't been bad (was better till recently) but not terrible. I like the addition of Mitchell, etc. No power play, no offensive leadership or swagger (which is what I thought Mitchell initially brought-swagger)...Gotta get someone who WANTS to lead this franchise and perhaps even bring some of his colleagues with him. Who wouldn't want to play here. I can hear it now though, at the end we'll all hear "We have made some improvements-and we're comfortable and moving forward"... |

Guys like Mitchell and thorton come to teams like us at the back end of their career basically for a paycheck. Do you really think Mitchell thought this last place team last year was a bonifide playoff team? Let's be real. Even at their best we are a average team at best.and I agree, luongo is also on the back end. Why do you think he wanted to come here and basically refused a trade anywhere else? |

I think Thornton took the $
I think Mitchell did as well but to a lesser extent
Luongo made his wife happy. |

Anytime you me or anyone else choices to go play for a team with a history over the past 15 years of loosing it's either because nobody else wants you or it's for he money. i.e. Bolland overpay, Thorton got 2 years, Mitchell got 2 years, jokinen somehow got 4 years, Boyes was on a pto for god sakes |

No argument, although I like Mitchell, and really, even Luongo was a good move..and I was against it. Markstrom is now tearing it up BTW. |
