If Tim Murray is the genius that some think he really is.
- buffalofan19

Murray is far from a genius.

Far from a genius.

Tim's face after his Uncle Bryan hung up the phone after saying that he was no longer going to help Tiny Tim make decisions as the GM of an opposing organization.
He finishes by saying "you're not in Ottawa anymore Tim", figure it out.

Thats a long time to pay him on a buy out
- cabin

10 yrs at about 1.44 per

No different than Buffalo paying Hoff 14 years at just under 900k per.

Okposo out for 6-8 weeks
A Tavares or Halak injury could cause a free fall with them...
Here's to hoping for an epic Leaf-like collapse!
Prob just dreaming though

- jdfitz77

if Halak goes down i bet they could still make the playoffs.. but tavares goes down i bet they are fighting for 8th

Armia and McCabe will not be ready by next season.

Doubt McDavid or Eichel get the full year call up unless of course they just light up the show.

Makarov will be in Rochester next season with Ullmark.

Hackett I doubt gets tendered an offer same goes for Liuewen (Spelling).

I wish they'd get rid of Neuvirth. Seeing that he is injury prone.

I wouldn't mind throwing a 1-3 year deal Niemi's way.

- Jammerz04

Um McDavid is by all accounts teh next Crosby. Why would he ever spend time in Juniors. He is NHL ready now. Same with Eichle. There is no way either of them play a second of any other hockey then NHL after they are drafted.

I think Flynn is a 4th line role player (like Paille for example) on a playoff team
- jdfitz77

Armia will probably be here next year - he is really starting to tear it up down there. McCabe will be close and will probably be here permanently at some point next year.

McDavid/Eichel would absolutely be here.

- Slump Buster

I think I agree with all that
Will Reinhart be here? Or will they give Grigorenko a shot first?

If all these guys are on the roster,
Are we at the cap floor?

Flynn is easily replaced. He really doesn't do much for me. hes not fast, not big, not physical. He's just there.

The difference is that the Hoff buyout doesn't count against the cap

No, but Uncle Terry has insinuated that there will be shopping/trades.

Reinhart does have the opportunity to play AHL hockey next year. While I do think he will be here next year, it does pose an interesting scenario.

Nylander is a great skater like Phil and has all the skill in the world but both are soft play zero defense and circle around instead of doing stops and starts

It is but they still have to pay him.

It's off the cap but the team still has an almost 900k debt to a player no longer in the organization for 14 years.

i think a future 4th line of Flynn Foligno or larrson Delorian will be a great 4th line
- IndianaSabresFan

So the Sabres are rebuilding, well just mark the 4th line off the list, we have that!

Things are coming together, haha

So would you say players one shouldn't build a team around?

projected to get 23 points on the third line

one of our best 2 way players
descent on the pk

he has wheels

great work ethic, one of the few

watch him closely when the team is down 4 goals

Idk, their backup goaltending has been pretty inconsistent
They'd certainly get passed by NYR & Pitt either way... Prob will regardless...
And it's likely they end up behind Tampa, Montreal & Detroit as well

So right now,
I say the finish 6th
But they're only 6pts ahead of Boston & the Caps, so another big injury could put them in 8th

They are 13pts ahead of 9th place Florida though, so it's pretty hard to see them missing the playoffs at this point
