Bold = keepers
* = one year probation

- Der Kaiser

I think I'd keep the entire trio of Mitchell, Flynn, & Deslauriers. They would make an extremely effective 4th line for any team.

So the Kings only saved $925,000 by waiving Richards. That's crazy.

Has there been word if he'll report to the AHL affiliate?
- dadeadhead

None that I've heard.

Granted, I haven't really dug too deep either.

Hodgson is another in a long line of Suck Sisters.
- dadeadhead

I agree but he will be here so he has to be factored in, at least for now...

He actually cleared. wow
- Beezer33

It's not really that surprising
Even if a team did like him, and wanted his contract (to help get to the cap floor possibly)...
He'll still be available in the offseason for super cheap
Most teams would prob wanna pursue other options first through free agency or other possible trades

Why did u feel so strongly he'd get claimed?

I saw a tweet that said he would report. I don't think he gets paid if he does not report.

Next year, potentially, although it likely will not happen...

Moulson - McDavid/Eichel- Ennis
Foligno- Girgensons- Gionta
Hodgson- Grigorenko - Armia
Deslauriers - Mitchell- Flynn
McCormick

Gorges - Myers
Pysyk- Ristolainen
Weber - McCabe
Ruhwedel

Neuvirth
???? (Hackett, Makarov)

- kingcong39

Armia and McCabe will not be ready by next season.

Doubt McDavid or Eichel get the full year call up unless of course they just light up the show.

Makarov will be in Rochester next season with Ullmark.

Hackett I doubt gets tendered an offer same goes for Liuewen (Spelling).

I wish they'd get rid of Neuvirth. Seeing that he is injury prone.

I wouldn't mind throwing a 1-3 year deal Niemi's way.

I'm not sure where how they would get rid of Gionta. I do think he's a guy that younger guys like McEichel/whoever they end up with, and even Grigorenko and Armia can learn from.
- buffalofan19

Also Flynn for some reason i think hes a decent role player that can flourish down the road in the right situation.. Kinda like clarke McCarthur in a way

If the Sabres sent down McDavid or Eichel after two seasons like this, they'd have an absolute PR nightmare on their hands. Even though they haven't explicitly said it, they sold the fanbase, or the majority of the fanbase at least, on the fact that one of those two would be in a Sabres uniform.

He'll be suspended indefinitely and will be unable to play anywhere else in the NHL or AHL until he does report. He'd have to retire to play somewhere else. Then can't come back for a few years. I don't know what the rules are exactly, but I do know it behooves him to report.

U can't stash a player in the minors for cap relief anymore
U sign someone to a contract, you're stuck with it unless u buy him out

Naw he doesn't suck. It's coaching that's killing him. Get him a good coach then he'll perform well.

Armia will probably be here next year - he is really starting to tear it up down there. McCabe will be close and will probably be here permanently at some point next year.

McDavid/Eichel would absolutely be here.

I'll bet they buy him out at year-end. He'll still be a decent asset during the season, especially if the injury bug hits the Kings around playoff time.

They're going to need all the cap relief they can get. They may not have any other choice.

Okposo out for 6-8 weeks
A Tavares or Halak injury could cause a free fall with them...
Here's to hoping for an epic Leaf-like collapse!
Prob just dreaming though

i think a future 4th line of Flynn Foligno or larrson Delorian will be a great 4th line

I think Flynn is a 4th line role player (like Paille for example) on a playoff team
