I enjoy it. you know where he's coming from. You know he has a list of players he wants to move, and he'll take anything for some of them.

My favorite part was when he was asked about the salary cap, he said good players are going to be available and we have the assets to get them...

Maybe one of the many reasons he didn't go after Richards...

Patrick Sharp anyone??

The draft is going to be an exciting time to be a Sabres fan and not only because of the McEichel possibility but with all the picks and prospects there could be 2 or 3 new Sabres (that will dress opening day) acquired day 1 of the draft...

3rd favorite day of the year, behind trade deadline day and Christmas.

He didn't say that he would be against still getting Richards just not through waivers, from what I got out of it, it would be a trade.

I'm glad to hear that after this up coming draft, he wants the team to start moving and not have to pick 1 or 2 the following year.

That it does. Which isn't a bad thing in my eyes if you add in his quote about not wanting to draft in the top anymore.

McDavid and a good vet from a team that is in cap trouble could really turn the team around.

With Richards he did say something about a team taking a bad contract off his hands...so I mean there could be a totally different look next year!

That is a good thing

He has been handed a hand loaded with aces.

Hard to screw the hand up that he has been dealt.

Nothing he really worked for to be fair.

99% of it was Darcy's work.

I am more than willing to allow him some time to prove to me that he is a capable GM without being tutored or spoon fed by his uncle.

But alas, as I previously said , it will be tough for him to screw this hand up.

So saying as much, we may never know if he is, or isn't a capable GM for a few years yet.

He can talk.

Lots of people talk with very little behind their talk.

Richards is 29 and 2 cups, very hard to say he can't help the Sabres. Would be nice to get him to move forward but that's my opinion.

I think he is trying to unload a "bad" contract on them, but I think Cody is signed too long to meet their needs.

I think the truest test thus far will be how Fasching turns out. He was his target and made it happen last year. The Stewart/Carrier/picks deal is 50/50 as well.

Kings need a D man and not a forward IMO. Voynov is going to be an issue for them soon.
