I keep saying it because I keep reading it on this blog, whenever someone posts about the lineups for next year there are 4-5 kids or more on it. Kids that shouldn't be on a toxic team as of now.
- SABRES 89

I don't disagree with that at all. That is all the more reason why we should embrace the disposable players that we have now and not get worked up over what is happening. I think people are ready to move on and want something to look forward to. Between the losing and Darcy's inability to make trades it has been years since we had significant young talent on the team. The good days are coming.

Yes, you offended me. People contiune to insist that Myers is the problem and bring up his point total, he is The Sabres highest Scoring D, man.

How may points does Risto have in his last 10 games? 1

Why is he not talked about having to be better? Does he not or does he get a pass?

- ImThatGuy

1 is 20 years old, the other is a player that put up points in the nhl his rookie season and has a fraction of the point total since that, starting his prime years in the nhl

myers has played 358 nhl games now, so let's face it, he is what he is
a 2/3 d man

it was a secondary assist, his only point in 10 games
as long as this team is the worst in the nhl every player should be put under a microscope

Risto probably should get a bit more of a pass as he is younger and more inexperienced. He's also playing with a much more inexperienced partner than Myers most nights.

That doesn't mean he should be completely immune to criticism though.

I'm sure not good, this can't go on next year. These kids will learn nothing if this keeps going. If Murray can't put this team together he needs to go, i'm not saying it's all him and it's not but this has to change next year, this can't go on for another 2 years.
- SABRES 89

He's quoted as asking the public to give him two drafts to end the 'suffering'. 2014 was the first one. I truly believe Murray will start building a playoff caliber team beginning July 1st.

Oh so because you have expectations of him that he is not meeting he is the issue?

Why just Myers? Anytime anything on this team goes wrong its Myers? Myers cant score, Myers doesnt punch peolpe in the face, Myers is not physical, Myers took a stupid roughing penalty.

If i cant have an open disagreement with you on a message board, maybe the hobby is not one i need to find....

He is playing much better in his own end, from the games I have seen

You can't discredit that

- homiedclown

Yep, just watch how well he plays in front of his own net on the Flames first goal against a kid half of his size.

Yea, he's playing better alright.

But you say you didn't watch last nights game so there's that.

you got offended when I said he had 1 point in ten games

there is no room for a conversation when that happens

that is something I would expect from a man in Oregon, not Buffalo

as for my expectations of myers, when this team competes he is a second pair d man on the second pp unit, not a focal point of a pp

myers has regressed in his game up front, probably due to coaching, when the next coach comes along maybe he will thrive and revert back to his old ways

right now in a playoff series with a tie game and 2 minutes to go, I think the sabres need a better option

not bashing him at all

I work second shift, so I am not a true fan

When the team competed for 55 minutes a night I would watch the game when I got home, now I would rather watch paint dry during this funk

Risto got beat by Gaudreau...

Nobody is perfect. They all make mistakes.

Goals got scored with Lidstrom on the ice. And Pronger. And Niedermayer.

Myers is absolutely playing better every year since he bottomed out during and before the lockout season. The guy is on the ice during a goal against, playing for the worst hockey team on the planet and somehow he sucks. I really don't get it. The guy makes great, silent plays all the time. Sure, he doesn't have a lot of points. Kinda like this whole team. Once this team rises from the ashes, I guarantee he does too.

Myers is what Myers is now, the excuses just need to stop being made for him already.

How many more years of excuses will be made for this average dman?

The excuse with Rolston was that he was holding him back offensively and it hurt his offensive game and to be fair his defensive game wasn't all that good either.

The excuse now with Nolan?

Nolan has allowed Myers to skate with the puck and Myers has as many goals and just a few more points than Mike Weber.

His defensive game isn't any better either with Nolan. That first goal by the Flames last night is the epitome of Myers since he entered the NHL, a man half his size (a rookie no less) owning him in front of his own net.

At some point you have to stop blaming the coaches and look at the player.

So what's the next excuse that is going to be made for him?

Enough is enough, i've been calling a spade a spade for many years now much to the dismay of his precious fan club here.

edit: I honestly can't wait till he is on another teams roster so our 5' 8" 165 lb players can own him as well .
Also to watch him trip on someone else's blue line every game .

Flynn - in the middle - lets the puck carrier advance well into the right side of the zone without pressuring the puck.

Gionta - on the left wing - never gets back.

Gorges - from the left side - leaves the goal scorer to walk out into the circle and attack the puck.

Myers - from the right side, away from the puck - sags off his mark, and after Gorges' mark receives the pass has to decide whether to cover Gorges mark on the left side of the net, or Monahan, who is camped directly in front of the net waiting for a pass. He gives Enroth the shooter, who walks in from the left side and scores.

What rabbit hole did you go down to interpret this as "Myers getting owned?"

This is actually what they're supposed to do. Take away the pass and allow the goalie to play the shooter, since the goalie is probably already square to that guy, not the guy the pass could go to.

No I didn't.

But then again those types of things are going to be expected from rookie dmen.

Rasmus has played 78 NHL games.

Myers has played 371 NHL games including his 13 playoff games back in 2010 and 2011.

More over, I wasn't talking about Rasmus's game, to be fair, I was talking about Tyler's game.
