You can't go full-out youth however, and have to keep some veterans in the lineup. If you have just kids with a couple of lower line vets then you'll get slaughtered.

You are then..... I never once said that. I said there is no reason to trade him, never said he's untouchable. If someone comes asking and the deal is great, then sure. I'm saying they shouldn't be out there selling him, there is no need to. He's young and he's improving. they shouldn't be trying to trade him (and get back what a 20's 1st rounder, maybe in the teens??) you don't make that trade.

Also in bjustad, whenever i see him play is very responsible positionally. Defensively aware. And hes a big boy. If kadri asks 4, ya sign him. But him getting 5.5 is Gross. He had 1 good year and regressed offensively (hes an offensive player at the end of the day). Bjustads #s are very similar to kadris last 2 years

Why the need to shed $ if you're rebuilding? Are you an owner? Is there going to be a long line up of superstar elite level players we need to spend on anytime soon or are you just trying to create cap space for the next Komi, Clarkson, overpaid ufa etc...

Cap space is only valuable when you are trying to retain your players...and we don't have much worth keeping.

Kadri's been night and day taking care of things that a top 6 center should be able to take care of this year. He's also been playing with Santo and Winnik most of the season and in a shutdown-ish role too.

He won't get 5.5M but he'll be around 5M.
