Agreed. The east is not very strong so anyone can take it. TB looks strong, NYR have the best D core in the east, Boston can win it, Mtl have PRICE, Subban and Patches and Pitt is Pitt. - Champ
Montreal should move on Lupul, if he's healthy. Give us your first and you get him for the stretch drive. You'll probably be drafting at 24 or 25, if it continues on. It's not like last year, with Vanik. You get a couple of more years after this one for Lupul. And did I tell you....he's really pretty! |

agreed...but long term IMO it's edmonton all day. Eichel or mcdavid almost a certainty. end of discussion - clark_griswold
if?
it's not a given yet...plus that doesn't guarantee (frank) all...we've seen that too.

nothings for sure. Im saying ill take edmontons situation 10x over TO's. Sounds like you'd still take TO's which is fine. Neither situation is rosy my friend that's for damn sure. BUt adding a mcdavid or eichel is a huge, huge piece. |

I'd rather see jvr in a leaf jersey than an islander jersey.
they don't have a 1st but a late 2nd is better than nothing.

When healthy, he's a real asset that has some leadership qualities. It's why I want him moved right now.....he could lead a charge for this team, going down the stretch. We have to prevent such things.....trade JVR for Strome and a second and reunite the Strome brothers after the draft! There is your one and two centres going forward. Kadri? We don't need no stinkin' Kadri's!

I don't see the Habs giving up their 1st, and certainly not for Lupul. He does not fit under the cap anyways. I could see them going for Franson like they did last year. |

Strome and that second makes it worth looking at. We get a decent centre that could become a number one or very good number 2.

But you said they need offense. By the time that the trade deadline rolls around, that cap hit is $1 million for the rest of the year.

jvr is a very solid piece to have but IMO he will be past his prime by the time we are back to winning. Tear it down! Tank!
and to get the important blue chips/high picks we have to give quality..trading bozak and lupul ain't gonna do it. The other teams want our good pieces for the same reason you do...but they're competing and we're rebuilding. |

well if he's looking for 5.5 + on his next contract he'll sit or be traded. |

But after this year they are on the hook for 3 more years. Not Bergevin's MO. JVR on the other hand...... |

You don't like that deal? i'd take their first next year instead of the 2nd but not sure they would. Strome and a pick is a great package IMO. And im not undervaluing jvr...Strome was a top 5 pick who has put up solid points this year NOT playing with tavares. He's 4 years younger than jvr and a hometown boy. I think you may be underrating strome |
