in fairness Connolly was a stopgap after Leafs Nation wanted Bad Brad from PEI and we didn't get him. Kadri was supposed to step in and be #1 after Connolly was done in 2 years. It didn't work out but at least they went to the plate and started swinging

Most teams that are sellers are getting rid of salary so they don't have to spend money and still not make the playoffs. Why spend to the cap and miss the playoffs, better off dropping a few million to do the same thing.

If they traded the following:
Clarkson for 7th
Santorelli for a pick (most likely leaving like Ramond did last year)
Winnik for a pick (see above)
Booth for a low pick (cheap player, someone will take)
Smith for anything so they stop calling him back up.

Phaneuf for a bad salary and a pick
Gardiner for a net as ours have had too many pucks in it cause of him
Franson for a late 1st or a 2nd and something small plus
Robidas for a mid round pick
Holzer for a pick

Reimer for a backup and let Bernier play without wondering when he's going to play next. I thought he was going to be the guy.

Just trade everything listed above for a combined total of 1 x 7th round pick and you might be able to get a fresh start.
