That line had one good season...that was it.
Nonis got Mac for nothing. Grabo was another bad contract. Kulemin is not worth the money he's making now.....although I could have lived with it had we not signed clarkson.

- Fakepartofme

nah they had a couple good seasons and they got sunk under carlyle cause he didnt get along with grabovski.

i think that you would have seen kule and mac sign for less than they are making now if they stayed in TO. management chose carlyle over that entire line, thats where things started to go south, like it or hate it, the writting is on the wall!

no it doesn't - I hope you're being sarcastic.

whether you like or hate Bozak, Kadri and Holland as the top three centers... the question you have to ask yourself is where does Richards play... so you are bringing in an aging question mark who might be your 3rd or 4th line center.

if you hate Bozak with Kessel, just a imagine a guy who's slower playing with Kessel.

and you give up the largest minute eating defenseman you have, and one of only two who can play physical.

not an intelligent choice.

- BorjeFan4Ever

I just think he's a cancer and the rest of the team don't give a crap while he captain.
At least that's my impression of why this team is heartless.

I'm sure someone will take a chance on him, and hopefully he'll look great for them.

I dunno awful expensive for that garbage

Leafs should start performing a bit better now - they have their depth back. Injured guys coming back means we can roll a balanced attack across all the forward lines.

Hopefully...these larger contracts being put on waivers is telling me the CBA fixed nothing. Owners are still being stupid.

I understand that. Your'e the one that said he's useless without Kessel, not me.
- mochoson

Thats why you trade him first, while he's still producing with Kessel

who else was interested at that price? how many teams were throwing $36 million at him?
- DoubleDown

apparently the Oilers had offered more raw dollars than the Leafs , but I believe one year less in term.

and Clark wanted to return "home".

I think that's partly on Burke. Apparently he could have had a million first rounders for those guys but felt they were going to be core pieces in a playoff run and resigned them. Poor asset management
- Aaron_85

burke only resigned grabovski for 5.5

which i agree was a million more than he deserved

but at the time we had no centers and kadri was young, grabo was also tossing up 50-58 points a season and was a spark plug for the team.

basically removing grabovski and adding in bolland or clarkson is what happend...make me puke.

Yeah cause RC had some pull to say "I'm not successful because these guys can't play my system."

They brought some guys in...same result.

They really only had one good season together.
Grabo had several seasons where he was very effective...if not one of our better overall players.

Here you go Habby fans

"As it was getting down to the end there were three or four [teams] where I was kicking back and forth," Clarkson said at Air Canada Centre. "At the end of the day I think in my heart this is where I wanted to be."

so just the Oil and the Leafs

He's been ok this year.
I said he would get 33 points this year with 13 goals.

What is he on pace for?

- Fakepartofme

16 goals and 2 assists

Bolland for his previous contract was okay value.

Even with Grabo signed, Mac and Kule for a couple first rounders during a re-tooling? Yes please!

there's obviously some truth to that.... it isn't just with Phaneuf though... it seems to take ages before teammate jump in whenever there's a scrum...

I'm not sure which game it was (fairly recently) but Komagod was being rough up and no one reacted for quite a while.

id have been happy if we got a damned 4th round pick for kulemin and a 4th for mac...

not being able to trade grabovski for even a 7th rounder to me is absolutely horrible work by not only the GM but the coach for making the player worth nothing. obviously hes decent enough to be in the NHL making 3.5 the season after and getting a 4 year 5 million dollar contract after..but seriously nonis you couldnt get a 7th round pick for a 50+ point center!? THATS SO BAD...

and why the F wasnt liles bought out?! he should have been the first guy to go...not komi who was in the AHL and had 1 season left.

dumb and dumber i swear !!

i don't doubt Phaneuf can be moved. but i think he would have gotten a higher return last season as a rental, without a long term commitment at $7 million.
- DoubleDown

Should we show him some class and trade him during a game?

The actual dollar figures of the contracts are irrelevant. They agreed to the maximum percentage of revenue that is split between the players and the league. That doesn't change. The amount is set and agreed upon. What the teams pay each individual player means nothing to the owners, because they already agreed to it.

Edmonton and one other team was offering more.
It was said he left money on the table.

- Fakepartofme

Again. Edmonton was only offering 4 years. Thank god he didn't take it.
