Who is to say, that you'll have the chance to make it any further, if you don't take your shot this year. Rinne isn't young and Weber is getting to the threshold of his peak. In 3 years, both of these assets will subside. It's either now, or never with these two key pieces. You still have Forsberg and Neil. Even Mike Fisher is getting up there. Right now, there is enough upheaval in the western conference, with the big boys dealing with their own issues. There is no projected top team in the west. LA isn't even in a playoff spot and they're the champs. Nashville needs to take their shot now, or regress in 3 years.

The point is, if you start moving players like Taylor Hall and RNH, you are dismantling your future core, before they even hit 24. It's just moving pieces, for newer pieces, 3 or 4 years younger, with no guarantees.

They where lucky to catch teams at their worst, last year. Many teams won't underestimate them this year. Tampa appears to be the team that has the best chance to make the most noise in the east.

I haven't heard that it was bad news.....it's good news! A better chance to lose to Jersey and Arizona, this week. Hopefully, the Leafs have to fly into Newark on the day of the game, because of the storm and they leave their legs on the plane.

Agreed. The east is not very strong so anyone can take it. TB looks strong, NYR have the best D core in the east, Boston can win it, Mtl have PRICE, Subban and Patches and Pitt is Pitt.
