haha no you wouldn't lol hes a top nhl talent not a cap dump go troll another post.
- jake24242

Not sure why he would even be discussed in trade, 5/30 goal season, 2/80 point seasons, (maybe one more of each during the lockout year).
How many guys with his talent become available?

But look at what he cost, (eventual cost), another top line player.
He's more established now, than when you acquired him, his value is higher now than before.

Not many, which is why the return would be so high.

It would be, & should be.

I don't think he gets moved.

disagree. He was 21, with a 36 goal season. His high since coming is 37. He hasn't exactly blown his boston numbers away. Plus now he comes with (justifiable or not) a large cap hit. We paid dearly to get his best years. We will get a good return, but not as good as what we paid. And i don't even mean seguin/hamilton. Even if we get 2 1st and a 2nd, it will be from a higher seeded team. No team rebuilding is going to make the mistake again that burke made and bank on this guy.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, the lockout, inflation, the market went boom!

I'd move Dion long before I moved Kessel, but I'm sure they're entertaining offers.

There's no rush when it comes to Kessel though, he's signed long term, and if they are seriously considering trading him the off season would bring more suitors into the bidding.

If he's moved you have to wonder where his production would come from?
Unless its "knock it down", ugly, completely suck for 5 year rebuild".

That seems to be the prevailing mood in LeafNation these days, or should I say #tanknation.

Of course, that's the fans, I'm sure the suits at Rogers and Bell will be a very difficult sell on that idea.

I'm much older, I remember the Sittler, McDonald, Salming, era like yesterday.
Those were actually fun to follow.

and i believe that's why Lieweke (or however you spell it) left.

I'm actually hopeful this time. I think they can sense enough is enough. they are driven by playoff profit as well. They will have to realize the retooling on the fly isn't working at some point.

Tear it down and build the right way. 5 more years is nothing IMO. I can't watch this garbage anymore.

honestly, it should be, teams that tank, usually do it for financial reasons.

The Leafs, & Flyers have too much money, fan base, & pride to just suck on purpose.
People do forget how long, & grueling a rebuild takes, thats 4-5 years off your life.
And look at the Oilers, sometimes it backfires

Consistently missing the playoffs too, I love the guy but I don't think anybody realized how soft he is and easy to play against in his own end. You get the good with the bad with Kessel IMO.

If we can get Franson traded before the next game, we have a chance to prolong the losing streak. Losing your 1 and 2 defenseman will make every other player behind, move up in minutes. We'll have 2 Marlies playing on the bottom pairing. It' imperative that we lose the next game and let Jersey get past us in the standings. We can't gain another 2 on them, or they may never catch us. Too bad that they weren't in the market to move their first rounder for Gardiner, and or a little more. They are lacking young talent, so maybe they take a nibble on Gardiner.
