Ness has been playing against men for two years and Reinhart has been for 3 months. I have been saying for a year that pulocks ceiling is higher but they are completely different type of dman - Dan Petriw
I hear you, Dan. I guess at the time of the draft I had this hope that he would be another Hedman or even Hamonic, and play in the NHL quicker. I was fine with him learning his craft in the AHL like most d-men. But, considering how much he was touted, his size, pedigree, etc., I was hoping he would at least have been an AHL standout by now. But you and others are right, some guys learn quicker than others. |

He was compared to weber so that kind of stacks the deck on the kid before he even plays a game in the NHL. LARSSON is looking great now so dmen can have ups and downs as long as you catch it in time he will develope into a heck of a player. |

2 years ago, I told you guys that your defensive prospects were only going to start making an impact in 3-4 years. Looks like I was right, again. |

Yes, apparently patience is a virtue when it comes to developing d-men. It's just that this season there have been many times when the Isles could have used him, had he been NHL-ready. Maybe next year...... |

I saw this posted over on the Rags board. If I'm reading this right, Cappy received the most votes for the Best Coach in the Eastern Conference by his fellow coaches. - JohnScammo

What a revelation. Who would have known defensive prospects normally take longer to develop? |

Have to wonder if the devils didn't win that draft year, would have the isles continued an still pick Strome or maybe Larsson? |

He was the consensus #4 pick that year and I wanted him, too. But Strome has developed into a very impressive 2-way center and I cannot imagine the Isles without him now. |

Kind of sucks that when we maybe didn't need the lotto pick you could only move up 4 spots.now that we really could use the first overall pick we likely won't win because we won to recently. If we could of picked first the year we won the lotto we would have nuge or landescog ect. |

He has been huge for this team. Never expected him to turn into the player he has. I thought he would be more of a one dimensional kind of player. Happy to be wrong about that. |
