This is where the forward depth certainly should help, but the main thing is that no one else get hurt now. We may see more line juggling over the next two months if Grabovski doesn’t light it up on the top line. Definitely hurts, and they’ll need to tighten up defensively. I am thankful it’s not the remainder of the year and I’m also glad he’ll be back before the playoffs, hopefully with enough time to get back into game shape before the playoffs begin.

Everyone has to deal with injuries, this isn’t good but it’s not as bad as it could be.

I think you really need Lee now with JT. I hope Grabo can snap out of it. Still want some size with JT.

I would like to see Strome on top line.
- niteislander

I’m still partial to moving Lee up there, but he’s a left winger and we need a righty, so it might be an option if Grabovski doesn’t fit well.

You have the cap room and he can still help the team

5 years left at over 5 mill a year. I would claim him on the way back up. for 1/2
- niteislander

Does not work that way anymore. You claim him for full salary now no matter what.

That rule (re-entry waivers) doesn't exist anymore. You either claim him for the entire freight, or nothing.

But, I was led to believe that Islander management has ceased smoking crack, so I assume that they will do the sensible thing and not freak out and claim Richards.

Lol, I was just typing that as you were posting

Lee and JT I still think will eventually be tried and will click as soon as it is.

Lee JT Strome would be an excellent choice while KO is out.

Lee to me is not ready for top line. He is playing great but still needs work on skating..etc. Strome has been arguably our best forward for months. He has certainly earned a look. He is currently only getting about 15 mins of ice time. I saw a stat that he was top 3 points per ice time.. something like that.. I am too lazy to go find it.

I actually think that is a real possibility, although the Islanders don't have the picks in next year's draft that the Devils would desire.

Here you go, guys.

It's Jiri Tlusty time.

Plus then you can build an entire line out of guys the Leafs gave away for no good reason at all...

Pete you know the rules of the NHL. Never, ever tell anyone about an injury. If both president lincoln and kennedy played in the NHL, they would both be day to day with an upper body injury.

Didn't Letang have blood clots? Funny, they didn't avoid mentioning the specifics of that condition. Like we wont find out in 6-8 weeks what's really wrong with KO?

Where's the transparency???

Brock to the first line.
He's been under-utilized ever since they broke up the kid line.
He also plays with JT on first PP unit.

Wanted them to get JJ in the offseason to play with JT. Devils prob asking more(or getting better offers) than we have, currently, with no 1st pick this July.

Think that would be huge to have him down the stretch.

Edit: Time for Garth to remind Lou how we helped the Devils(when on verge of bankruptcy) when we swapped Hunter for Rolston then they immediately put Hunter on waivers & shed $5M in salary.

Say that the Devils are picking 7-9th ( I'm hoping for 3-5 ) and there is a slew of defenders available what is that pick worth to trade down and would it be worth it to potentially get a really good prospect and a later first in this really strong draft or is a hannafin or kylington or werenski worth more that any potential trade from a team looking to move up and take a defender ?
