Calgary may grab him, or make a deal for him from LA. |

Confirmation the flyers won this trade. I'll take Simmonds and Schenn any day over underperformer being waived - arichardson22
Sadly that's after they won 2 cups. |

Don't think he will be claimed. He will get traded with salary retained, but nobody will take the full contract. - Frank0721
This. LA needs to take some $$ back. |

If a team claims him, isn't it for half salary?

Can't believe some here are surprised by this, even more shocking is that some people want their own teams to claim him when his contracts runs until 2020.
Sure, he's still a decent 3/4LC, but you if you want your GM to claim him you've just lost your right to say that the Panthers have Bolland a stupid contract. |

This year maybe but not next season (as far as I know). And he is not a UFA before 2020. |

No.
That was re-entry waivers, under the old CBA.
This is regular waivers 100% of the contract intact. |

Only if LA recalled him and he was claimed on re-call waivers would LA be on the hook for half his salary. I don't see LA doing that as they would be paying 2.5/year for no player. I think they have a deal in place in theory and part of the agreement was to put him on waivers prior to, perhaps to allow the deal to work? Or a 3-way deal?
Guess we will see.....I don't imagine it'll take longer than the day for the chips to fall. |

You assume he wins the cup if he stays with the Flyers. Whereas I think the Kings win the cup even without Richards.
Flyers won that trade hands down when you look at the players involved. - MBFlyerfan
Thank you!
Kings would have won both without Richards. Plus:
It's not like we traded them Carter ourselves, which we got the leagues best point producer and one of the best defensive centers in the league, who is only 21 |
