Wideman is first in NHL D goal scoring and 15th in points ...if he is traded it's for something good ...not an albatross contract

Daly said 6 week ago the cap would hold if Canadian$ remained at $.87. Well it has dropped to under $.80.

Richards is just the beginning of a bunch of teams trying to get out of cap jail. Nobody will touch the contract unless LA eats a chunk of the $000. It is going to get really ugly for 6 or 7 teams.

What jury?? Richards contributed greatly in the playoffs and they won - winning is all that matters... Can you prove they win without richards?? Maybe this year if he gets claimed we will find out

LA may not have won any cups without him. You just won't be able to prove otherwise. Even if you want to argue that Richards was not a key piece in either cup he was a piece. There is a very high chance (when you consider all the permutations) that LA just wouldn't have won, how many one goal games were there? Did he contribute a win or 2 in their first cup during the season? Maybe they miss the playoffs?

LA wins the deal, Philadelphia has more to show for it in assets but LA got what they wanted even if they buy out Mike.

True, he was, because they were positioned with players around him to do so.

No, because we didn't the same components around him, (cough, Quick, Doughty).

...and Simmonds and Schenn has propelled Flyers to where exactly??? The winner of the trade was announced in 2012 with the cup. All you're doing is looking ahead, and how long will you be looking ahead before those two players have a real impact?
