People will never be happy, we can get McDavid and they would still complain. People think what we have in the AHL are the saviors and bring the team to the promised land, we can't add this guy, we can't add that guy...............when does it end.

Not sure who are you describing or how it applies to this converation. Not trying to flame you - I am legitimately curious.

If Murray had any balls he would put Hodgson on waivers, Richards has 2 cups and now he's on waivers. Hodgson is a complete waste.

I think Moulson is the classic example of a truely complimentary player. He will be a very good and affordable second line winger when we get better talent at center (and he is on the second line).

Richards ?

Anybody pick a player, you mention adding any player in the NHL on this team 28-30 and people freak out, it's a joke. you can't ice a team of kids.

Pretty much.

I have a feeling Richards will be a Sabre today. And I will be ok , but have my worries too.

I'm with you in that if he is, so be it. It won't be a favorite move (again, only due to the contract length). but as others have said - it provides an easier path to removing Stafford/Stewart/whoever while not having to bring back scrubs.

Sure, you absolutely can not ice a team of kids. The argument to not sign Richards is NOT an arguement for icing a team of kids. There are scores of vets that are cheap and have won cups. Our (also broken-down) captain is one of them.

Moulson is a first line player on a S$$T team with no center, end of story.

That's your opinion not to sign Richards.

I tend to agree with this. Everyone talks excitedly about the prospects (rightfully so) but not all of these prospects are going to amount to full time NHL players.

Foligno is a prime example. We all thought he was destined for stardom and now he is a plug and play guy with a famous last name.

Grigorenko is a guy everyone thought would come in a light it up right away. He is progressing nicely, but is taking longer than most expected.

I could actually see a swap of Hodgson for a guy with a bad contract - just not Richards. As I said a few posts back, if I was going to do that I would go out and get a younger and not broken-down guy with a bad contract. At that point it is just a matter of preference.

He won't be, I posted something about it yesterday. I don't think they like the contract.

Regardless, Murray doesn't have the balls to put Hodgson on waivers. Hodgson brings nothing to this team, he's another Tim Connolly.

How is Richards "broken down"? That's a term I've seen used to describe an injured/feeble kind of person, not a guy who is just not performing (and again, he still has 15 points playing with bad linemates on LA's 4th line).

Like I mentioned the other day. We do not have a scorer at 19-20 in the farm that can play on this team and score 30. I don't see any one at the moment.

There are scores of guys around like that. Once again, we signed our captain to be that guy this past offseason. If you want more over-the-hill vets I can see several free agents coming up - Jagr, B. Richards, St. Louis, etc. And that doesn't even take into account the guys that are going to be cap casualties.
