Not to change the subject but, the Rams may have an interest in trading for Nick Foles.

he is the only ufa I would consider bringing back

Trade and sign back? (How is that not illegal what they did with Moulson?)

Not a bad idea but I think as of now, he stays with the Rams.

I think that Larsson, Pysyk and Flynn are the most underrated prospects in the system. It's hard to judge how valuable a strong two way player that may not have the offensive upside as others ...Especially on a team that doesn't score as it is. I'd be sad to see any of them go. I go to nearly all the rochester games and Johan plays in all situations and never makes a dumb play.

The media can be blinded by a 1.5 PPG minor/junior player

Also Pysyk should 100% be in buffalo, still confused by that but i hope the numbers work out for him after the deadline and he gets the call

I understand it has happened before but so did 15 year contracts and they righted that wrong (because everyone basically knew it was wrong straight up).

I mean, why would you not do that more often, if possible? The player would have to be understanding, but if they really like the team / environment, I don't see why now. The difference with Moulson and Mccormick was we paid them more than anyone else might have offered, so there is that too.

The only reason the player should not "like" it, they are drafting new players to potentially replace them one day, but that is the circle of hockey life.

My guess is 12 of those will either be traded or not offered contract

I do not think that will be an issue

do you see the sabres resigning
Matt Ellis
Patrick Kaleta
Drew Stafford
Chris Stewart
Andrej Meszaros
Andre Benoit
Tyson Strachan
Drew Bagnall
Nathan Lieuwen
Kevin Sundher
Jordan Samuels-Thomas
Torrey Mitchell

Samuel Thomas is the only one I can see them keeping. The rumor I heard( not that it's unexpected) that there will be over 50% turnover going into next season. And I think its great news.

Any TV coverage for the AHL game tonight. If I remember right. This isn't like the NHL all poop game.

The Jets will have 9 healthy d coming out of the all star break, absolutely no way the need or acquire a d, not sure why this article says this. I can see the jets having interest in Stafford and Stewart if the price comes down. They are not going to over pay but probably would part with some combination of a 2nd or 3rd round pick, pardy, postma, mid level prospect like Scott kosmachuck or jc lipon and maybe one of their goalie prospects.

theahl.com has a link for tv coverage. I believe Time Warner carries it throughout New York state. I'm hoping I can catch a stream somewhere for free.

I think it's still a little premature to be calling Larsson a bust at the NHL level. He's still young, but is managing to dominate and put up points fairly well at the AHL level. Every time this kid gets called up he's stuck on the fourth line getting 6 minutes or less a night with Kaleta and McCormick. Not even Gretzky could've Wowed the fans given being put in that kind of situation. Resign him and give the guy a real shot with the team next year, and if he sucks then, trade him at next years deadline for a third.

I can see them giving Ellis a 2 way deal, Kaleta might have a mandatory minimum raise offered, Staff and Stewart are tough. I think if we don't trade either of them, we will definitely put in a flier for each to re-sign for less. Mesz is a goner. Benoit can be easily upgraded, especially when TM decides to start trying. Strachan is a great 7th guy, but seeing as Weber is probably no lower than a 6th guy, he may actually have a role on this team next year, or someone similar to him. Between him, Mesz and Benoit, Strachan is the least amount of space wasted. Bagnall will most certainly obtain a decent 2 way offer. Lieuwen will be QO'd. Sundher will probably be released. (Along with Mark Adams, Brad Navin and Christian Isaackson, who will remain unsigned.) JST will be resigned. They like him down there. Mitchell, I think, has increased his value since playing in MIN. I think he has legit trade value as a 3rd or 2nd.

"With those two teams playing better, and with markedly superior talent to the Sabres, the Connor McDavid watch shifts to Arizona..."

I wouldn't count your closest geographical rival out of that race just yet.
