What the point of that?
Living in the North, I used to take some pride in being tough when it came to the weather. I'm over that now. Last year, we had one of the worst winters ever in Michigan, and when it was consistently taking me 2 hours + to get to work, I didn't really feel any pride or toughness. I felt like I wanted to throw a spear through the guy driving next to me, and move to Florida (where I would immediately begin to female dog about the heat).

It sucks. I've been a chef/cook for 22 years and not once did my place of work close because of storms. Trust me, I would have rather had the night off.

What about LA though, warm and sunny every day and still a two hour drive to work.

i would take him if he reached us, we need a 3rd line center who can win face-offs and provide a little more offense than what we already have. would definitely rather pick him up on waivers as opposed to trading a top prospect and a pick for vermette

his contract is too horrendous, it's not so much this year, it's the 5.75 million cap hit until 2020 that's the killer

scratch that, not taking him at 5.75 a year until 2019

He has a terrible, albatross contract. I would be shocked if he was claimed because of that contract. I think he would fit nice with the Rangers from a play perspective, but because of that contract, there isn't a shot in hell of that happening.

didn't realize it was that much for that long, if he gets claimed it'll be by the sabres, oilers and co.

What's the salary structure like? Any potential cap restructure penalties?

Yeah, that's what the NYC area has become—a bunch of scardey cats whenever the forecast isn't good. A few years ago they cancelled school the day before, for what amounted to 3-4 inches the next day.
Last night weather channel forecast was between 4-8 inches in NYC & 8-12 on Long Island.—not the 3 feet Jan is saying, although in Edmonton, they deal with 2 feet of snow and minus 0º like it's just another Tuesday.

Nothing wrong with waiting until later tonight or tomorrow to make a decision- especially if the Rangers are already at the Nassau Marriott. With all the advanced weather forecasting tech, they can operate in a smaller window once the storm begins.

yeah, crazy re-capture penalties, that's why it never made sense they didn't amnesty buyout him like we did with Brad Richards

you were only reading the day time predictions, everyone last night was saying 2-3 feet for the whole storm, learn how to use the internet

It's a shame. He'd be a solid player to add and exactly what we need but obviously not with that deal.

Didn't they gave Bryzgalof an insane contract in that same time period?
GM was spending like a drunken sailor.

Really? I was watching Weather Channel at 1:00AM on TV.
Relying on the internet all the time allows faceless, unreliable sources & self-proclaimed know-it-alls to spread rumors and exaggerations.

Like a lot of the people on the site.

If you read the whole post, I think I said they can wait until tonight- canceling 36 hours in advance is silly. Forecasts are wrong all the time.

I saw a piece on him in preseason. He was warned in the off-season to be in top shape for training camp - they were thinking of moving him then...
