Agreed. I don't like MacDonald, but I think he's a better player than Richards right now and projects to be over the next few years

Convert VL to defense... he could be our Byfuglien.

idk, I don't know much about dwarfs
- BulliesPhan87

Well I do know about our blueline. And saying that AMac is one of the Flyers' more mobile defenders is like saying that oral herpes is the bets type of herpes.

It's even more years (and with $1M retained, more money) tied up on your bottom defense pairing.
- jmatchett383

But at least MacDonald is a defenseman who can play in the top 6.

If the Kings offered Richards and $2M retained for Amac, I would do that. Kings can;t do that though

He just needs to put some meat on those bones to pull it off... I'm sure Vinny's familiar with gavage, you know, him being French and all.

Well, he's taller than Warwick Davis.

So he's got that going for him.

I loved Richards as a Flyer, but I've watched him a lot since being a King. I don't have a heart-on for him.

He took a ridiculous amount of criticism, much of it unwarranted, but he wasn't the greatest captain in the world off the ice it seemed.

I am looking forward to see if Manning can play another solid game like he did against the Pens.
Moving Grossmann, L Schenn, Coburn would be much easier if Manning can just play a steady game

No, but a lot of the criticism was utter bullpoop. I've seen him in LA, too. he's definitely not the same player. Still a capable bottom 6 forward, but he's simply not worth the hit.

Coburn, MDZ...after that it's a coin toss. So he could be one of the Flyers' more mobile defensemen. I guess it all depends on what you mean by 'the' and 'is' and 'of', and all those other fancy words.

Flyers have plenty of Centers, they don't have many quality defenseman like MacDonald.

So he's third best out of 6 at being less terrible. That's worth 5 more years at $5M.

Test the level of interest? If anyone claims him, they lose him, and the level of interest doesn't matter. Anyone claiming him on waivers has to take on the full amount of the contract remaining.
- MJL

Okay. AMac for Mike Richards ($1.5M retained)

caveat: LA must supply all of the coke, pills, alcohol, and C-grade (LA vintage) tang.

Just seeing this now.. I know he's struggled for a couple years in LA, but to be placed on waivers? That's kind of a shock to me. I wonder if there will be any takers, and if not, do they send him down?

Also, I thought he had a NMC?
