"Mike is a .330 hitter who can still hit .280 but right now is barely hitting .200" - Dean Lombardi

Dude needs a change of scenery. I refuse to believe he still can't be an ok 2nd line guy somewhere. He needs a fresh start in the worst way....and a skating coach.

Honestly, I question his desire for regular season hockey. He seems to be able to elevate his game in the playoffs. I would lean towards agreeing with you, but I just don't know how much he wants to. He's never been a great skater, that's not going to change now.

Looking more and more like Richards won't get claimed. LA needs defense. Amac plays something resembling defense. Lets make a deal

Whatever hole they have outside of Doughty can be filled by one of these guys.

It never looked like Richards would get claimed. That deal is awful for what he's done the last two seasons.

If they didnt ride Quick to two cups that goes down as one of the biggest fleecings of the last decade.

Perhaps if he's listened and got his conditioning up to par things would be different. We know the Kings at least if also the Flyers were never happy with how he did things

True, but I thought someone would be intrigued enough at a player not far removed from great play who was fourth liner on a team deep at center. Put him as your second line center on a team with a more offensive bent and I think he will put up more points.

I definitely agree. Guy just doesn't look like he cares enough more often than not.

Not for 5 More years with an almost 6 Mill cap hit. He'd have to get traded.

It'll be interesting to see what happens, if they send him down, how long he stays down, and what will happen in the future.

The Kings should have used a CBO on him last summer.

Using a player in the best situations for the player...
- MJL

A mediocre guy that can't handle primary and secondary opposition relegated to his rightful third-pair, sheltered role... funny, I do agree that is the best situation for him.

If he can do us a favor and ban him from ever putting on an NHL uniform that'd be great

Horrid. At least he's won at every level he's played. What else is there, now?

Would anyone on here consider Richards if we were to deal Andrew MacDonald in the deal? Or if it was Coburn, but LA ate some $ on the Richards deal to even cap hit out ?
Truth is the Flyers don't need centers but a few guys around that have won at every level might be nice.....besides I still have the old Richards jersey around.

Still don't understand why they didn't? It wasn't like his role on the team was going to change this year.
