If you believe this team is better without Dion in the lineup, you're as delusional as Aminnes.

In all honesty Jbold, you think the Leafs are going to play worse without him? How?
- weirdoh

We can hope he is right ... but let's just watch this team suddenly pull together and play better, more solid defense, down the stretch.

The best thing would be a complete collapse, not only for the pick but to show how valuable Phaneuf is to the team.

Given that your best bet is always to choose the option that would be the worst for the Leafs... I think we'll see a sudden resurgence.

No, he fought.

And obviously isn't very good at it.

Give up even more shots without him in the lineup.

This is going to be bad.

- jbold

I'm willing to bet their record over the next 5 games without him is better than the past 5 games with him. $20. You in?

He was out for 2 or 3 last year and they won 1 or 3 I think, not much difference, but 2-3 games is a pretty tiny sample...

take Mcdavid/Eichel. move RNH for a top pairing D-man and they could have the best 1-2 punch down the middle in a couple years with Draisatl in the mix
- GardinerExpress

Oilers probably won't draft inside the top 2, if I were to guess. Probably 3-5 tho....

They are 0-6 in the last 6, so it is tough to do worse.

I think we can maximize Kessel's and Franson's value now rather than later (Franson obviously). NYI missing Okposo leaves a gap there for Kessel to come in and fill for the next couple months. Preds also could look at him as the missing piece for a Cup. It's really just a matter of time for Franson-I'm sure that is just a bidding war as of now.

JVR makes the most sense to deal at deadline. Teams can fit him under the cap, and use him for years. Imagaine NYI grabbing him....Franson as well for obvious reasons

Is Phaneuf still going to be in the room to crank the Bieber tunes and make sure the team benefits from his inspirational leadership?
