I feel more comfortable seeing Polak going up against them then wither Phaneuf or Gardnier, you won't see them easily beat him to the outside and at least he will get into the shooting lane to block a shot.
- LeafMan

This proves you have blinders on.

Gardiner gets beat, and will never block a shot.

Btw. Dion is 2nd on the team in blocks. But hey, I guess we'll ignore that too.

Its only a matter of time before I get banned for proving you wrong, I suppose.

Joffrey Lupul, Peter Holland, Stephane Robidas and Leo Komarov all back at practice today for the Leafs.

Get Phaneuf away from this team, it starts the core change.

- LeafMan

Apparently Robidas left the ice before practice started and Granberg took his spot

I really dont have a point

- senstroll

Awful year. He's coasting through games, expecting kessel to produce the offense for him.

This is exactly what the team is doing, because they know what they have in him.

And back to back's? Who cares. Every historical stat in existence shows you split those up. Who gives a poop how he'd do in the second.

- mcleafs

He hasn't shown he cash be good over long stretches and is always protected, if the leafs are having a bad game he gets yanked immediately to allow Reimer to get lit up, although Reimer was okay last game when that happened... Berny needs to be thrown to the wolves before he gets the net long term IMO, and he didn't earn it, it was handed to him, which is even more worrisome...

Dion only blocks shots because he's too slow to move out of the way

a smart management team doesn't look at it like that. you don't NOT make moves to preserve something that's already not very good. that's narrow-minded thinking.

I'd trade Dion. Apparently Dallas is interested and if we could get Oleksiak and Eakins, I'd be happy.

But those thinking that Dion not on this team would be an improvement, are just plain wrong.

Weber at 9 makes sense to me in this market... Dion at 7 for 3 years would have been fine, but for 7 is insanity...
- aminnes

So Weber's overpaid b/c if he were a UFA last summer he'd be at 11 or 12. Subban's at 9.

For the record Dion at 5.5-6.0 would have been good value. I've just convinced myself that this team needs a full lobotomy - which, for me, means dealing Phaneuf and probably Kessel.

Your basing your argument on assumptions, we have no idea what he gets with the new rules... But either way Dion is way overpaid...
